I do remember that the stats for child abuse (as well as rape) don't really hold as consistently in other countries because there's a difference in how we define child abuse in this country versus others being more specific. I'll have to find my source for that.
EDIT: For instance, Germany reports that 75-90% of child abuse perpetrators are men or male adolescents, while only 10-25% of perpetrators are women or female adolescents.
In Mexico, a study showed that 79.7% of reported child abuse perpetrators were male, while just 2.1% were female.
What's the reason for these wildly different results?
You're also ignoring the fact that females are far more often the victims of child abuse (and sexual abuse in general) than males.
(Just as an example of how statistics can be skewed, countries like the Netherlands report WAY more rapes than the US, but it's because their definition of what constitutes "rape" is broader than ours; rapes occur at similar rates even though the stats show higher reported instances. Our definition of "child abuse" could be similarly broad.)
