He's right. I saw it with Assassin's Creed: Shadows. There was an example of someone liking the look of the game, but then watched their favorite content creator and changed their mind.
In years past people disliked followers or sheep, but nowadays there is a large contingent of people that have embraced being a mindless lemming.
He's right but not for the reasons he gave. He's talking about mechanics in that statement, specifically that influencers tell gamers that games a made for casuals and gamers just believe it.
But thats true, games are made for casuals, which is why games have shyt like yellow paint and lighting to direct the player.
But its also true that influencers will convince the market that good games aren't good because they feature a woman or black protagonist or a story that could be seen as political.
Also what's the difference between a reviewer and a influencer? Reviewers aren't necessarily honest actors, most are trash at games and give scores based off how much money the company paid them.
