Really not a huge shift there.

a few more white people in the neighborhood doesn't = gentrification. If you knew that area you'd know that.

I went to high school around there. It's the poorest congressional district in America.
I agree but, developers know that those people own nothing and can be moved easy, you can have a hell hole but if you have political and money going in the area, they will take it, and guys standing on corners looking hard is going to do nothing.

It's heartbreaking, Uptown turning into a yuppie paradise. My folks off Jefferson gotta move now, last time I was there I seen cacs walkin they dogs by some thug nikkaz. I don't give a damn, I'ma get a spot in Southside to keep it black at least, if it gets gentrified then I'll live in a good neighborhood with sur du tables and yoga studios. :noah:

Well, the main problem is DC's height limit. It wouldn't be so bad if developers could build higher than 12 stories. The southside is all that hasn't really been touched yet & I doubt it will. I lived here for 2 years and I never felt the need to go beyond L'efant more than twice.

Nah, there's a great chance the historic areas in southside will get gentrified. Just think, Frederick Douglass' house is on a hot ass block. The only areas I can see being safe are the spots closer to the PG border or further away from the river. No worries, I found a spot on T st for a good number so I'ma stack a lil and make my move.
