I don't see a problem with him telling his story but don't pretend that a majority of blacks in DC are savages like he is. I'm older and seen this game played before and they have USED it against us because we have this thing about being hard when most aren't like that. Racism is in full effect for us and the last thing we need is for a person like trel to be a spokes person to represent other young black men. Yes, there are guys like him but they are not the majority or even half. Just because they are not nerds, doesn't mean they are killers and robbers. I'm am tired of blacks being fools and playing right into the hands of racists who need you to believe the bullshyt so they can show the world why they put you in prison and let guys get away with murdering young people. We are selling our own people out by living a lie. Just because you hustle for money doesn't mean you are a tough guy. Just because you smoke blunts and curse, doesn't mean you are a thug. These are racists ideas and blacks who hate themselves help perpetuate the stereotypes but I will be damned if you sell me out without me saying anything. Rap is being used to make us look like the lowest scum of the earth, and dumb ******s push the shyt. I've been and seen that lifestyle and its bullshyt. Nothing to glorify,. Just tell your story and grow the fukk up. nikkas is like kids and want you to feel sorry for them or some shyt.
All facts :wow:

I understand that. The only reason I bring that up is cuz most rappers in the DMV never grew up specifically just in one place.
shyt even Shy glizzy was in and out of Maryland. Its really just the street image people wanted and still want

Right now you got a dude like Q da Fool from Largo, MD, which aint even in trenches like that making the most violent music in the area, getting a pass. Trust me its all image.

Shiit back in the days a lot of DC folks went to High School in PG, and lil in Mo.

If you was DC and had fam in PG, there was a good chance, you were going to school out there.

I remember I moved from Adelphi to KDY in 6th grade, lived there till my 12th. But Never went to school in DC. And everyday on them buses, I saw a whole lot of kids, taking that trip from DC to MD.

Lil Mo's mother taught at my elementary school (this was when Lil Mo was at her peak too on all them Ja Rule, Fab songs in the early 2000's)

it couldn't be more wrong, but nikkas routinely be fighting and trying to hawk females up Adams Morgan

nikkas do be up Adams Morgan, i never said it was the hot spot for blacks to hangout, but they be up there.

it's warming up, so nikkas will be back out there..like always

A lot of folks don't realize that Adams Morgan was damn near all Black 20 years ago with a few Salvadorans and Dominicans.

Still got a few Black families out there.

Adams Morgan was the first part of NW that got gentrified.

Shiit I remember Columbia Heights before the Metro got built. When Clifton Terrace was still there.

It's funny to hear nikkas still claim this DMV shyt, I'm 36 and we never claim no damn Virginia, nikkas wasn't going out there

Lil G from my wife and kids tv show was more around the hood when he was attending suitland than bamma ass wale
Dmv is just a music scene term cause nobody can keep up with VA. It really started with all the DJs who had gigs everywhere, but even that small area, the three areas wouldn’t fukk win each other.

So DMV became all 3 so everybody could get their respect. Va and md can claim the streets of dc. Va and even md seemed soft, but dc gave it that credit. Dc can seem bigger than it is and they can latch on va’s music scene. You start naming md and dc rappers who blew..... we’ll wait.......

Nobody really claims DMV. They’ll use it to tell someone else about the area. But nobody really running around screaming dmv unless you in the music scene. Then you on some “yea shot out to the whole dmv”

Interesting, so the DMV was made so DC artists can have more marketable name while having access to VA's music reach?

I thought the opposite was true

Yea dc is small. Small as fukk. So if you moving around the area, you’re gonna be in md and va and associate with them. But dmv is a hater area like most have said. So there is hate between the three

Well you still need to do shows and make money and make deals. You all within the same 30 mins of space. So DMV became a unity thing. Or tried to be. It still does not work as you see today. But people try

As for music you have dc with wale. Ain’t another dc rapper ever blew up. Trel included. Ain’t none with a career. Md included.

Dc was used for the street cred. Md cause they closer to the hood parts of dc. And va cause it’s catchy for dmv. And cause they had the big names in music

I mean if they city and hoods is so hard and got such a rep why don’t they rep they own shyt bro lol. That don’t make sense, for instance meterie and Kenner is so close to New Orleans. Like some parts is literally 10 minutes away, but if u not from here and you rep it, u gonna get exposed and look like a phony pretty quick, cause nikka gonna ask u where u from in the city and u not gonna have a proper answer or u gonna lie and the people from that spot not gonna know you. So it’s no reason to not to be true with where u from.

read the post above bro. It’s about being real or faking it.

I think MD people claiming D.C hoods is exaggerated. You do have people that grew up in nice areas that pretend to be from the hood but honestly people say they from D.C because noone knows where Capital Heights, is.
