Prodigy was from Long Island but, repping Queens.

Half of ATL......you know what, Atlanta is a perfect example. Forget Prodigy. 90% of them ATL rappers are from outside of 285 (suburbs) but, ATL supports them and shows them love. Yall DC dudes should be showing love to anybody that makes it instead of being crabs. Yall region will never get hot if yall constantly tear down your artists.
The thing about P is that he spent a lot of time in Queens, he did a summer program in Queensbridge Projects when he was a lil nikka, he went to Art & Design High School in Manhattan, as a teenager he was living in LeFrak in Queens.

Queens is technically part of geographic Long Island, Queensbridge is in a neighborhood called Long Island City, there's a street in Queens that once you cross the street you're in a town in Long Island.

A lot of people act like P shouldn't rep Queens, P isn't a Queens nikka when much of his life was actually in the city.

shyt...same with L.A. Last I checked Compton, Long Beach, and Inglewood are not really in or part of Los Angeles. But Most of the Legends come from these places.

@#1 pick "We don't have no economics silly, blacks don't commit crimes willingly, they do it when they have limited options. You can't tell me any different. I seen it first hand while being in DC. I wish nikkas would get out before you open your trap.[/QUOTE]

What the hell are you taking about?. Most poor blacks are not shooting and killing people. Its a few. Yall nikkas just want to defend something without realy seeing what
your defending. I did crimes when I was younger just like a lot of people I grew up with but I wasnt no cold blooded killer like a lot of rapper rap about. Even the people I knew
who was deep in the life wasnt hard 24/7 like these rappers. No one is saying they
shouldnt rap about what they experienced bu be realistic, that shyt was not you 24/7
and it was not most people. Give that rap to people who want to hear the sob story
about blacks and how fukked up we are as a whole.

If they are being real Why these hard nikkas never rap about the good times we had with each other and I don't mean in the club popping bottles?. Why they don't rhyme about the older people teaching us some stuff and cracking jokes?. What happen to growing up with your people who was like your family and having fun with very little?. What happen to selling nicks, and dimes or dubs and getting some chinese food at the end of the day? What happened to mommy or grandma making your ass go to church or telling you to get your life together?. What about rhyming about fighting your boy and being cool again?.

Why is everyone is jealous of you?. Why they ain't shyt if they don't have the best shyt? Why you pack everyday hoping to shoot a nikka?. Why you nino brown or scarface?why you always beating your cases? Why you never get busted?. Why you always have money for bail?. Why you always have a lawyer and not a PD(public defender)?. Why you always getting out right after you got locked up?. What happened to the nikkas you robbed and why they ain't coming to retaliate?.
Basically the shyt is not honest.

maybe because that's the DC he wants people to see. not this "young savage" ghetto bullshyt fat trel is talking about. a lot of us are sick of ghetto nikkas and their representation in hip-hop. we're tired of it, so i don't fault wale for not showing that part of DC. he's representing for the young black men who are educated and trying to do something positive, dealing with the usual bullshyt we're up against in this world (white people and racism, stupid females, etc.).

nikkas LOVE stories of exaggerated struggles and poverty and addicted to that shyt like cocaine. If I want to hear some crazy, realistic shyt, I go listen to a MC from a third world country.

Naw, it was pretty hood a few years ago. I haven't been in years, so maybe they got it back to them white folk. But for a minute, you have cats from the hood just come post up & they'd be deep. I'd see cats pull at a girl's arm as she walking by with her man on some "What you gon do shyt?" Knowing it's only possibly dude by himself against like 7 or 8 dudes together. Also, they could be holding something on them because they don't go nowhere but post up outside.

After I started seeing that shyt, I slid over to U St & GTown
Interesting. I stopped going out pretty much altogether in 2008. Around that time, it was mostly a white frat boy scene. But it has been 6 years. Things do change.

it couldn't be more wrong, but nikkas routinely be fighting and trying to hawk females up Adams Morgan

nikkas do be up Adams Morgan, i never said it was the hot spot for blacks to hangout, but they be up there.

it's warming up, so nikkas will be back out there..like always
Ok. It's DC, so of course you see what you talking about pretty much everywhere. But it definitely wasn't a hot spot like you said.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Does Wale really need DC to be relevant though?
there's a reason why there's no big artists from nowheresville america. every single major artist and 99% of the indy rappers we know about claim a big city... and really, it's not even any big city... it's literally like 20 cities in all of america, that you can attach every single rapper to

crazy when you think of it.. but yea... industry wise.. you need a big city to be attached to

The 2010 census right? It dipped below 50 in 2011. It was a huge story. Check the wiki page for DC demographics.
nope... 2012-2013

http://suburbanstats.org/population/how-many-people-live-in-washington-dc

http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/11000.html

see it's kinda what trel is talking about... people see all these white people IN the city... the see all these hipsters CLAIM the city... they see all these people ACT like they from the city..

but when you check their ID, them motherfukkers ain't LIVING IN the city

i see the ignorance.. but lets flip it another way

you came up in hoodville right? you been struggling all your life just to get a buck.. you went through some hard times.. you did it all in hoodville.

all the sudden.. here comes these nerdy ass, middle class, had it easy, no struggle type nikkas walking around all the sudden. you know good and well they never lived there a day in their life. and now one of them is famous.. he's representing hoodville. he's doing videos in hoodville. he's claiming hoodville and doing interviews telling people all about hoodville. when people think of hoodville now, they basically see him

that wouldn't irk you a little bit?? like "hold the fukk up. what about me? where's the nikka on tv and radio to represent the "real" nikkas who had to put in blood, sweat and tears just to survive out here? where's our representation?"

that's why i said i don't think he's trying to diss wale.. he never even mentioned the fact that wale ain't from dc.. he never said wale is doing anything wrong. all he said was, "i'm gonna give you the other side of this city, that has zero representation, and that the fans and residents can relate to.. why? cause i fukking live here"
