Father leaves twins in car, goes to work and they die from the heat. He won't be charged.

I will never understand how u forget u have kids in a car.
THIS. Maybe because I don't have children but I don't understand it. Before I leave my car I make sure my cellphone and wallet are in my pockets and never leave them in the car so I couldn't imagine leaving a human in a damn car! :gucci:

Wouldn't you hear the babies talking, crying, etc?! Also nobody in the parking lot would have saw some children in the backseat?! :mjtf:

I wouldn't consider leaving your kids in a car a genuine mistake :hhh:

You're talking about a decision or lack there of that led to the death of not one child but multiple. The energy was completely different when posters thought it was a white dude who did it, but now since it's a breh it's different. He should be in jail and any other parent who did it should be as well.

Maybe you're right.
I just think that if you presented this to people in different countries you might get different responses.
Seems like in this country if something we don't like happens our response is to lock that person up.

Breh we're literally talking about two kids who died because they got left in a hot car by their father :mindblown:

You're downplaying the situation and what transpired.

Strange. I took a jury survey on this very scenario today.

I can't remember the exact word but the expert witness had a term for it. The basal ganglia is on autopilot and takes over the active memory part of the brain and you just go about your business.
Yeah, when you're driving your usual routes your brain basically goes on autopilot. You can make all the turns, obey the lights and stop signs etc. and by the time you get out the car you don't remember a damn thing - you might as well have been sleeping. And it tracks because the only times I really remember my driving commutes are my first time going somewhere or when some weird shyt pops up. Your mind purges out "redundant" memories.

Again, you may be right.
I'm just wondering if the immediate response of "throw him in jail" is an American response.
It's possible that it isn't.

Damn.... Poor babies ....

Whoever invents the device, app, or system that alerts you to a child left in vehicle is gonna be good.....
:jbhmm:

If you have the seatbelt securing the car seat it should be pretty simple to have some kind of signal or reminder. But then I guess most people would ignore it after a while when no child was in the seat.

WOW!
Even here in Nigeria its on the radio everyday.

''No leave pikin for car o''
''He feat die on top wetin oyinbo dem dey call heat stroke''

Translation:

Dont leave small children in the car.
They could die of what white people call heat stroke

What a doofus. He deserves no further punishment. He is already in hell. I feel bad for him. He and the kids, victims of Western society in this endless capitalist chase for survival aka money.

Terrible story. Super sad. Coli blowing my high rn.

In his defence, on a long drive I have often simply forgotten my baby girl was back there because im just not prepared for her to stop yapping like she usually does. I turn the music on loud and start bumping vintage DMX ''my n****, some n**** that you aint wanna try', my n***" my entire mindset switches, I honestly think im alone and forgot I just strapped her in 30 mins ago. She just been super quiet so i phased out.
Then when she finally asks what is happening daddy why the music is loud and are we home yet, im like o shyt, WHO IS BACK THERE! WHAT!!!!!!!!! Why you been so quiet boo?!?!?!

When your actions cause the death of someone, that's what the immediate response should be.

You're creating a slippery slope as you would have to apply that same logic in this instance to other situations where people "make mistakes" that result in the death of others.
