No, what I'm saying is that in a general election where perception is more important than reality..that Biden can play upon his humble upbringing versus Trump's silver spoon background.

Dude, that's exactly what I'm talking about. No one really sees Biden as some blue-collar guy, but as Obama's weirdo number two who wrote the 1994 Crime Bill, supported our Iraq policy long after we found out how ineffective and deadly it was for everyone involved, is one of the major Democrats unquestioningly backing the Israeli apartheid state, and has generally been the type of pro-corporate Democrat people like Sanders, AOC, and Ilhan Omar (who are not without their own problems, of course) have been pitting themselves against for the past 3-4 years.

Biden isn't going to been seen as this blue collar guy, but as a lifelong Third Way Democrat whose political positions have helped drive our country into state we're currently in. Dude hasn't been able to represent himself as a humble, working class type for decades.

Yes, Trump IS a pampered, vacant-headed elitist moron who has had his entire life handed to him on a silver platter, but the one thing he will forever have working for him until opposing politicians get a clue is a narrative of American life that his base buys into and, worse, has a flock of truth to it: cultural elites and economic elites are conspiring to destroy the common American's ability to have a decent life. Yeah, he turns it towards disgusting nativism and racism, and uses it to mask the same old right-wing nonsense we've seen from Republicans for the last 40 years, but what can Biden really pit against that when he's one of the people Trump's narrative correctly implicates? I would put very good money on Trump winning another term if Biden runs because he, like Hillary, doesn't actually have a narrative that either isn't blatant dissimulation or anyone with a brain can really believe in.

And if such a narrative actually did work and he became president, then we're absolutely more fukked than we presently want to admit.

This is actually a more general problem than is being framed in this tweet. Much more about the general "student as consumer" shift over the last 30 years that puts pressure on instructors/professors to preserve students's GPAs (among many, many other issues) than about this specific case. Although this is all definitely a part of that.

Dude, I was just talking to a WaPo reporter like a week ago about how awful the student culture is at Georgetown. :dead:

One of the complicit students being a Georgetown undergrad is one of the least surprising parts of this investigation.
