The aftermath of all of this will be way more temp positions that they don't have to pay during these political spats.
Man I feel like I dodged a bullet. I had an offer to go to the government side last year but I turned it down because I didn’t like the salary for the location that was offered. I may have had job security because I would have been “essential personnel” but with the way this administration is moving you don’t know what’s going to happen.
word one thing is absolutely for certain all essential employees are gonna riot if they have to work and not get paid like some third world countries civil servants.
Wait till the mics are stuck E-5's and below in the military come the 15th of next month if this shyt is still going on.
I was talking to my government counterpart whose essential and he said he has too take out bank loans to cover himself while he’s working without pay. It’s a zero percent interest loan because he’s a federal employee impacted by a government shutdown but it’s still crazy.

Nope other than using furlough for some leave I’ll be working. Part of me would love to get furloughed but knowing it would just be a shyt ton of work when I get back

That's kinda on the Fed who spends all of their money because they have a guaranteed check coming in two weeks.
Nothing is ever 100% certain. I'm confident that my check will be there on the first but I have a substantial reserve to pull from if necessary.
One reason I left the country is because I lost my DOD contracted position but as a 100% DEI disabled employee I could get a job pushing paper at Commerce of something but living in DC means that I'd get a FED job probably have to work my way back up and be subject to a shutdown rug pull like just happened.
