If you were raised one way and people around you are saying you're A, someone coming in saying your B will be met with resistance.

Other people understand just fine but I'll try to simplify it.

The women calling into the show are over inflating their requirements for partnership because they are on the show. They're words are being used to form an idea that BW are only looking for rich men which is not true. We know this not true because we can see the men they are ACTUALLY dating and have children with do not meet the over inflated requirements.

Makes more sense now but isn’t the context different?

Most of the women who call into these shows either have kids by non-rich men, which makes them undesirable to rich dudes. Or turned way non-rich dudes for whatever reason and now want to settle for rich dudes without actually changing their behavior to do so.

It’s not that these women want rich men in itself, it’s just that they had negative experiences or circumstances happen to them with the men in their life so they now they desire some ideal partner in their minds. I guess as a fail safe to prevent them from experiencing whatever relationship failures they had in the past.

I think it’s moreso projecting rather than the need to impress the viewers with their high standards. Akin to cognitive dissonance.

Honestly I don't think they are thinking that far ahead. I don’t honestly think most BW think past their 20s when they are in them. We are not taught to prioritize relationships or marriage so it's an after thought to most.
