I liked both, Remake and Rebirth smoked the shyt out of any past Square Enix JRPG. Like, FFXIII, XV, and XVI are INFERIOR to Remake and Rebirth. Rebirth is a 10/10 to me.

I remember FF7 on the PS1.You say that like Rebirth sitting at a 84 or something lol
This line has been grossly misinterpreted and keeps getting repeated online.

This was the "real meaning" straight from their report. Not clickbait articles or reporting. Those two tweets explains it with proof. People just will believe what they want to believe even in the face of actual evidence/data being right there. Nothing shown above is opinionated. Also the sales milestone thing is not indicative of whether a game is successful or not. You can't seriously think FFVII Rebirth was less popular than FFXVI and sold worse because of no official sales milestone.
Well... That's my opinionI remember FF7 on the PS1.
I could pick Rebirth apart all day.
I don't see it as a 10/10 by any stretch.
Me? I say it's an 8/10 and I wouldn't be mad if someone said it was a 7/10.
Opinions Opinions right? But there's too much narrative goofiness in Rebirth that is hard for me to stomach.
There was some of that to a far lesser degree in the OG but Rebirth comes across as cringey as hell quite often whereas in the OG the tone and themes felt much more mature.
Metacrtic scores are not objective.Well... That's my opinion. It has a 92 on Metacritic.com. That's not a 8/10 ish game objectively.
Are you implying that Rebirth didn't sell 1 million copies because they're wasn't any announcements? All I'm saying is the lack of a formal sales announcement isn't evidence that the game didn't sell great. For comparison, remake sold 7 million in 3 years. Maybe they will give a sales update by then. What official numbers has Square Enix ever given about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?
They have said nothing in terms of numbers. We know they're capable of doing so because another game that came out that same year Trials of Mana got an announcement when it sold 1 million copies.

Trials of Mana shipments and digital sales top one million
Total worldwide shipments and digital sales for Trials of Mana have exceeded one million units, publisher Square Enix announced.www.gematsu.com
Another game released by them the same year Dragon Quest Builders got a sales announcement in an official live stream

Dragon Quest Builders Surpasses 700,000 Units In Total Sales
Square Enix revealed in their final Japanese livestream for Dragon Quest Builders that the game has sold over 700,000 units in total sales across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.www.siliconera.com
So it's not that they can't or don't usually do it. They announce actual sales numbers all the time. Octopath Traveler 2 got an announcement as another example.
The game been out 1 year and 7 months and they're quiet as a church mouse on the numbers of what it sold. That means if they put out a number it would be unfavorably compared to other equivalent games so they'll either wait until total sales cross a favorable number or just never announce anything.
It's not objective but it's very useful. Games don't typically reach that high.Metacrtic scores are not objective.
Hype is the only thing that really pushes games beyond 90.It's not objective but it's very useful. Games don't typically reach that high.
No one would be taken seriously to say none of these games are very high quality.

Not liking something as much is one thing but to act like someone is a lunatic for saying a 92 average game was their GOTY is a bit much.
I think people only have issues with reviews when it's something they don't like is reviewed highly. Like Metaphor is at a 94 and I think it's not that great compared to Rebirth. Also Claire Obscure is at a 93 and I personally think that game isn't better than Rebirth either.Hype is the only thing that really pushes games beyond 90.
With so much fandom, hype, hate, involved in gaming, a game needs to hit a perfect storm of all that to get above 90.
Like a 91 game isn’t any real quantifiable way better than an 87 other than it hit a lucrative hype wave, or avoided random negativity.
Sooo, metacrtic scores are full of shyt…..I agreeI think people only have issues with reviews when it's something they don't like is reviewed highly. Like Metaphor is at a 94 and I think it's not that great compared to Rebirth. Also Claire Obscure is at a 93 and I personally think that game isn't better than Rebirth either.I actually feel like that game is a cool 8/10.
I mean, who cares if it flopped end of the day the trequel is on the way and on multiple platforms. they need to be worried about the next actual new final fantasy cause it’s looking sticky. You got Crimson Desert looking like what FFXVI shoulda been and Square stuck making nostalgia plays instead of pushing shyt forward. Final Fantasy should be on the level of Resident Evil at the very least.
Yeah, much like Remake/Part 1, the game feels bloated. Like the majority of the side content, I would say it's not worth it and just focus on the main story. Or at least if there is a guide on which side quests are worth doing. Imo either of those would offer a much better experience than doing everything.I hear there was a lot of content for this game. That's unfortunate.
May as well dumb it down and drop it for the PS4
