It's the vibe that's pissing me off. This pg13 Disney vibe is pissing me off. Ol leave it to beaver ass NPCs

16 was a little darker than FF is used to but it was still afraid to get mature like how they completely ignored the concept of race in the story or how the main villain was just evil to be evil.

A lot of these Japanese games got this problem where the overall writing hasn't grown up with the audience.

I can't seem to play Rebirth for more than an hr or two before I get completely disinterested, and put it down for months.

Which is weird because I played the first non-stop, and the gameplay is actually better here.

Probably be more motivated to finish once the 3rd one is about to drop

THIS GAME IS INSANE WOW!!:blessed:

The spectacle is crazy I just did the Benedikta fight. Loving every minute. Did not get this enjoyment at all in FFXV. The first few hours in this has been a straight up nonstop roller coaster!

Fire and remove those baka devs in charge of FFXV because I don’t want that shyt anymore.

I haven’t went to sleep at 4AM for a game in years.

I got this as GOTY material along with TOTK. Spidey 2 and Super Mario Wonder are my next GOTY candidates from what I've seen.
nikkas crazy :mjlol:

I'm the same way and I think it's honestly because they made a whole game out of what was basically the most boring part of the original story-wise

everything kinda feels like filler compared to midgar where there's twists and turns and shyt happening constantly

plus I'm the type that wants to do all the side mission stuff in the first run since I rarely replay modern games but they went way overboard in this one

FF been in a weird place since 12 where they can't decide whether they wanna be an action game or a traditional JRPG.
Tbh I feel with the FF 7 remake trilogy, they only made it hybrid to cater to the OG FF 7 fans who wanted something closer to turn based. At this point the series is clearly heading to be more action than a JRPG.

It has a similar problem a lot of shounen manga have. They tried to be mature at times, but they don't commit all the way.

For someone who never played the OG. It just felt like it was too bloated. There were times I was locked in and invested in the story. There were stretches it was a struggle to continue with all the side quests & side content.

Which is odd because they can tackle those subjects with anime to a degree

Same. I got it day-1, yet never got past the gold saucer; been over a year since i last played. And I really liked remake and ofc the og ps1 game is one of the goats. I guess my issue is they’ve been tryna milk this same story, these same characters, on and off, for the past 28 years and there's nothing new.

We get it, Sephiroth is an edgelord with mommy issues and Cloud is a brooding introvert too stupid to pick a bytch or take a hint…

I mentioned before that for all the hype for remake, it sold about the same (slightly less) than 12 and 13 did, so it's not like the fanbase for these specific characters grew since 1997 nor were current gen gamers captivated like they were Horizon, GoW, Spidey, etc.,
