Real G's move in silence
You're sick but that's okay
Well Cloud was the one who whopped his ass in Crisis Core. Zack got beat by him.I find it funny that Zack plays a part in the story but Sephiroth doesn’t give a fukk about him at all.
Shieet I didn’t thinking they would top Remake and they did@Black Mamba
While I don't get caught up in GOTY or game of the generation talk(don't care if people think what way about it), I pretty much echo your sentiments on this game. Best thing Square-Enix has done in about two decades and that makes me worried for part three because other then cutting back on some of the mini games(difficulty mainly) I don't know how they can top this. I was concerned about the ending considering what people were saying and implying, but I ended up being fine with it outside of the unnecessary inclusion of the Bizzaro Sephiroth form as if the fights with Jenova and Sephiorth wasn't enough.
I can't think of anything in the original that was done better in Rebirth as far as story beats go. The few things that I wasn't completely on board with were Costa Del Sol, and not because I hated it, but the juice wasn't worth the squeeze going through all those mini games for a brief thirst trap with Tifa and Aerith. I wasn't expecting a fukking episode of Baywatch or anything, but perhaps a little more shenanigans before we jumped into mixing it up with Hojo's crazy ass. The other thing was the Cait Sith solo mission...yeah, that was better left on the cutting room floor or just adjusted it a bit with the wonky controls(mog moves too slow and the box throwing was infuriating). I felt like the Zack parts were nothing more then fan service, but not bad. I thought I would hate the Temple of the Ancients because people were going on about how long and convoluted it is, but I loved every second of it.
Also, @Balla I have to agree with your assessment on party members. I thought Red would be fun, but nah. Only used him when necessary. Aerith is a mage(never liked using mages in rpgs...sue me) and is slow as hell and fragile to boot. fukk Cait Sith's hoe ass(I'll admit his character is WAY better in this game though).
You already know breh@Black Mamba

They should of made a a literal 1:1 remakeThey made some baffling decisions in this game. You almost don't get to really experience the impact of Aerith's death properly because the multiverse shenanigans overshadow it. There's a whole generation of players that never played the original and didn't know that was going to happen and their experience of it was tarnished by a multiple worlds story where in one timeline Cloud saves her and Sephiroth uses alternative world fukkery to edit her death back in.
The whispers and multiple worlds have not made this a better story. I believe the producer said something to the effect that this remake story will end and go directly into Advent Children. All this extra stuff they're doing won't amount to anything.
There's also the fact that they've flirted with Sephiroth and Aerith having knowledge beyond the remake timeline we play and knowing future events and playing a chess game at a higher level.
Sephiroth as a villain really suffers from being overexposed. He's not an interesting character past the point he breaks and his extra screen time really lifts the veil on that. I mean he's not Chadley bad but he's not far off. Just rambles on and on when you see him.
I thought he could see her because he was exposed to the lifestream multiverse soup or whatever you want to call it when he and Aerith fell and Sephiroth was lecturing him on his desire to unify everything. He also transitioned worlds with Aerith and got the charged white materia then came back.I think the game will play better once part 3 is out and we get the full picture.
They are doing some interesting stuff with cloud potentially disassociating Aeriths death which could make his break down on disk 3 even more impactful.
Well I said potentially. After reading directors comments and commentary on Reddit, it seems they left it ambiguous as to wether he actually thinks aerith is alive still or if he knows she’s dead and can see her because of life stream shenanigans.I thought he could see her because he was exposed to the lifestream multiverse soup or whatever you want to call it when he and Aerith fell and Sephiroth was lecturing him on his desire to unify everything. I didn't take it has him having an episode mentally her spirit was really there but the others can't see it.
