Final Fantasy VII Remake still a multi-part series - Gematsu

If they're still comparing this to say FFXIII which is "three parts" e.g. episodic then that means the first release might be 50~60 hours. I wonder what they will add/change because I assume people imagine the game will flow and play exactly like the original game except with better graphics.

Exactly. People are freaking out about the episodic format like they're about to do a Telltale/Life is Strange on us. :heh: Since backgrounds are actual assets now and not just painted pictures, it's going to require a lot of space. Not to mention that they've said that they want to take this opportunity to make this surpass even the original. I have no doubts in my mind that they're planning to flesh things out immensely. Who knows what extra stuff they might add, now they have the chance to due to technology.

People want to complain about games never coming out, and then also complain when they seem unfinished and disappointing when they release earlier than they should. They never learn. I'd rather wait for a really good game instead of getting a game right now that's filled with cut corners and missed opportunities.

This is Squarenix and Final Fantasy - they're going to take damn near a decade to put anything out, its gonna be less than what they promised, and their continued support will be trash and sputter out halfway through the calendar.

This is not the company you take that line with... And those background assets aren't some full animation masterpiece in play either. Its nothing special at all. Along with the textures on display in the trailer as well. They took years to go from the teaser to this? And this is arguably the biggest traditional RPG studio left? Simple answer: This is how they maintain their hold on that engine and everything else is just a bonus :mjlol:

What is the last great FF game? Was it 10?
12 to me was dope.

They took this game over from another company and scrapped what they did and rebuilt it from scratch with an internal studio at Square. One of those companies that does the Naruto games. CyberConnect2.

What?!?!:heh: My copy had all original 3 discs... What you talking about??? If they want to cut up the game into 3 parts because it is huge then go ahead and do so...:ld: I'm sure they'll be people that will pay for it...As long as each disc is a very long game and worth the price...:ld:

You posted the 3 disk like that's the same as selling the game in episodes and gamers were just ignorant.

If this remake is anything like the last final fantasy then it will be a huge open world with absolutely nothing to do in it. I'd rather it be a straight up remake, sold as one game, and fateful to the original.

This shyt looks like FF15 with a FF7 reskin.

I'm upset because its gonna be inconsistent, I highly doubt the same team is going to work on all the games, and I can't see it being less than 4 episodes. Even if they get it down to 2-3 years a episode we looking at 6 at best for a complete finish... or it could take up to 10...

Which means people and teams could come and go.

This game was announced in like 2015... its 2019, this game gonna fool around and be on 3 generations of consoles.

Same thing happened to kh3 :francis:

Y'all are conflating announcement to actual development time.

They had a whole other company working on it before they took it away and restarted.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until the second part is in development hell. If these installments aren't released within a year and a half of each other then yeah.

It's square enix. So I don't have my hopes up in terms of them getting the full game out in a timely manner. But in the case of the circumstances I'll give some leeway:hubie:
