said this before but leviathan seems like the easy path forward. Its the only Eikon that appears in marketing and on the mural with ultima but doesn’t appear in the game.

I took 3 days away from the game after that fight. Seemed like a fitting moment. Jumped back in tonight and it’s like I was famished and sat in front of a 5 star buffet. This game should not be clicking like this for me. I am not a huge action RPG fan. Especially JRPGs. But this game is so fun. The combat is entertaining as fukk. I’ll probably be quick to finish it though when I’m done getting all the bounties. I’m running through them fools at a steady pace now. What made you take a break from the game?

I want the actual ultima blade so bad its just so useless by the time you get it. I hate when games do shyt like that, give you the most powerful or fun stuff at the very end of the game.

I was getting tired of the FFXVI combat loop a bit, and the pacing was starting to lose me. I felt like it started off hot, and as I got more powers it only got better…
until Cid and the second time skip
By that point I started to feel like I could use the same moves all game and still beat it. It would be boring, but very possible.
I feel like if they had enemy types that forced you to use different powers and gameplay mechanics (different weapons with different move sets, or stuff like some enemies becoming majorly vulnerable after dodging their attack combos, some that won’t break/stagger until you return their attack back at them, etc) I’d have stayed entertained longer.
Definitely makes it feel like they had a tough time deciding it’s identity. I might be chasing the Eikon highs more than anything. That and seeing where the story goes.
