Finally read Cosbys whole speech. Why would a black person disagree?

No they don't NEED to be said over and over and over. Y'all just the type like to focus on negativity 24/7. YOU need to say these things. Can't fukk wit y'all

I don't like to focus on negativity. But negative things need to be addressed. Or would you rather people be absolutely blind and not want to fix anything bad?

my problem with the speech is its condescending, doesn't address white supremacy, and justifies the murder of blacks over 2 dollar cake.

1. We acknowledged that the delivery was less than ideal. Stop beating the dead horse.

2. He didn't explicitly address white supremacy because it's assumed that the members of the audience (the NAACP) already knew about the white supremacist structure. Moreover, he was speaking at the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education so it's apparent (and thus didn't need to be pointed out) that white supremacy existed and continues to exist.

3. Now you're reaching; he NEVER justified the murder of blacks over cake. Again, he was using hyperbole to emphasize that, some times, blacks bring on a lot of problems on ourselves . Moreover, he was calling on black parents to take control and be more proactive in their children's lives.

but more to the point, while he's wagging his finger at blacks for living in poverty, cosby was out here drugging and raping women (and girls) with impunity

Has he been proven to drug and rape anybody? When did that verdict come out?

its not the delivery, it was his original point thats the problem :what:

so you saying addressing petty theft (which we all acknowledge is wrong) is more important than addressing systematic white supremacy? fukk outta here.

and its not a reach, its his words. you're reaching trying to cape for this senile nikka.

i don't care if he did or not. cosby told us we're the problem, we need to pull our pants up and stop speaking ebonics so we wont have to worry about white supremacy. well cosby is articulate and never sagged, and white supremacy is kicking the hell out of his brand. so maybe he'll learn a lesson either way.

Son Cosby is an a$$hole..period...it was a dumb point and a dumb way to present the point...black people aint the only ones who steal shyt...dude had zero empathy for individual situations and just generalized shyt...he been on this holier than thou kick for a minute..Eddie Murphy even roasted him for it...dude has went to colleges and shytted on the black graduates rather than encourage them...dude is a hypocrite cause it took him years of experience for him to straighten his act up yet he lookin down on people who are further than he was at the same age...I respect the nikka for his contributions n all that...I respect what hes done for the black image.. but it dont give him a right to point his egotistical ass finger like he better than people..its not about the message..its about the way u deliver it...the way u present it...he made this analogy before on The Cosby Show..when Vanessa brought Dabness Brickie home...he told him it doesnt matter how good of a guy he was..he wasnt gonna like him cause of the way Vanessa presented him.."on a garbage can lid"...that was how his speech was presented.."on a garbage can lid"..
People who steal out of necessity are few and far between. Most people commiting crimes are not doing it out of "real" need.

If you aren't being super nice or being funny we, sadly, don't want you to talk to us about the ills is in our community. If he had Madea out there wisecracking after every other paragraph it would be a non issue. But since it was all bluntness with no chill on the ether and most of all, because it rang true, butthurt folks had a problem with it. lol @ folks saying it was condescending. What kind of p*ssy ass bullshyt is that?:stopitslime:

We do need to get our stuff together out here in these streets regarding the recent activities...but let's not behave as if we aren't on the hook for some shyt ourselves. :mjcry:

How can you call yourself a man, say a man pointing out actual wrongs is being condescending(simply because he isn't acting an ass while he does it; believe me...folks will tell you it wasn't the message it was the delivery:what:), and still look at yourself in the mirror every morning? I really wonder about some of you kats. :scust:

Ol, he didn't kiss my ass while he berated me ass nikkas. :mjlol:

Ol, he was too mean ass nikkas. :russ:

Ol, I got a trophy in school simply for participating ass nikkas. :lolbron:

Cosby finally realized that being nice never got anybody anywhere. Say what you want, but people are still talking about this speech after all this time. The nice people have long been forgotten and written off as weak.:sadcam:

Only the strong survive. :gladbron:

Dude chastised black people who give their children African names. Straight up c00n.
Are we talking real African names of real African warriors and/or of real African origin or some made up bs? 95% of the time it's made up bs. :patrice: Some of you know where this dude is coming from but you are letting your emotions blind you. You end up doing alot of the stuff you accuse him of doing. It's so fun to sit back and watch psychology at work. :pachaha:

What part of Africa did this come from? We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa. With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail.

Mohammed isn't even an African or "black" name.:mindblown:

He's attacking people of sub-Saharan African descent for having the temerity to not give their children Anglo-Saxon/European sounding names. Plain and simple.
