And not like 5-10 mins
I'm talking about an hour or so sometimes

But I'm in a sales position
So I get away because I rarely call out. Always work extra when they ask me too. Never complain about anything and one of the better sales people.

i got fired from my grocery store job when i was 19 because i was "late" 3 times within the first 3 months. first two times i was late by less than 3 minutes. i was in the building and just happened to actually clock in a few min late. the last time i was late clocking in because i was talking to my manager before the start of my shift. it shows up as "late" in the system and i get fired. fukk em though that job sucked dikk

No I said they warned me before, but I didn't have to sign anything, they just sent an email, so last week happened after that warning, which is technically fair, it's just extremely petty, it's not like I wasn't putting in extra effort, it's just the traffic and the metro is crazy inconsistent out here. I can't control that, and let's not act like my being "late" effected anything, the people I support don't come in until :830 so I'm just sitting there browsing the coli anyway

I don't think you really feel at fault or like being late is a big deal. They didnt hire you to stay later than scheduled. They hired to you to be on time and anything extra is a bonus. You keep trying to get credit for things...

"Technically fair"? "It's just..."? "It's not like..."? I'm just browsin the Coli anyways"?

Let's put those key words into a common relationship argument. "I just was texting him baby so I wasn't technically cheating and its not like I was having sex. I'm on my phone anyways texting so I don't know why you have a problem!"

Stop trying to find credit in those shades of grey and keep it black or white.

Only way you getting fired for being late on a job that doesnt have a time clock is if someone above you doesnt like you.....

id come in late, not clock in on purpose, then when you brought me the clock in sheet be like... i musta hit a wrong number, i was here....

If your a valuable resource to the organization, there would be no reason to get rid of you.

And on being late. I fukking hate being late to work. I hate when shyt happens and I have to rush to work. Most annoying thing to me. I'm always 15 mins early just so I can breath easy and not feel fukking rushed trying to punch in and shyt and people looking at me sideways and shyt.

I don't care if I get there 30 mins early. fukk it that's why I have my Ipad and phone. I can chill and get on that but knowing I'm not late just makes my day get much more smoothly

So I just got fired for coming in 5 minutes late.. And not responding to emails after hours.. I'm already driving over an hour to get to work.. And to make matters worse they wait until I get in for the day to tell me..

I did.. The traffic out here is unpredictable.. Like I said it can take anywhere from 50 to 1hr 30 to get in.. I leave my house at 6:15 to get in at 7:30..

Driving an hour and a half o’clock just to get to work is tough. I can only imagine.

Ugh, if anything, they did you a favor. That commute is straight viscerious. Couldn’t do that for more than a lifetime.
