Road construction and shyt like that will be one of the circumstance that slide because EVERYONE is effected by it, this obviously wasn't the case because dude said he had been late before. Like I said I ain't buying it only being two times and now we may have the reason, he wasn't being as available as they wanted. All in all if he cared about his job like you or I do he'd had made sure to be there on time and "lounge" like you or I would.
I told him on day one that I took classes at night, he just refused to understand what that meant, if him or anybody else can't respect that then fukk em.... Edit

I was late 4 times but I called and told him way before

And they said "fukk you". I worked two full time jobs one at night and one in the A.M. and I was never late for work and if I couldn't handle it I'd have dropped one of them...looks like someone made that decision for you.

What if there's road construction on your only route to work and the schedule of the road work isn't quite clear? You said you rode Metro out here, well Metro is also notorious for track work that adds even more time to your commute. Like I was saying, in the DMV shyt can be unpredictable and ain't nobody checking MDOT/VDOT/DDOT on top of checking the weather. I feel you tho, cuz usually I try to leave an hour early cuz I'd rather lounge around at work and be on time than be hauling ass breaking traffic laws n shyt.

Its only takes 1 day, maybe 2 to get your shyt straight as far as coming and going. Ive lived in worked in areas where the entire fukking city is shut down due to snow, but we still had to make it to work. In fact we could arrange to be picked up and dropped off via snow plow. Theres always the occasional car accident backing up traffic, fresh snow/ppl not knowing how to drive road closed.

If its major like weather then everyone will get a pass, for everything else, simply leaving 10-15 mins early. If you use public trans then your bound because their times are generally locked but just do the route that gets you there previous to the start of your shift. Ive been dropped off to work 2 hrs early because thats the only way I could get there. it sucks but better than sittin and try to explain why your late or missed out.

See you get it while, this clown who got fired for being five minutes late doesn't. He just wanted someone to be "ok lil boy we understand that you're in school and work full time so we give you a pass" GTFOH :camby:

Only way you getting fired for being late on a job that doesnt have a time clock is if someone above you doesnt like you. In every career job ive had as long as you come in around the time you supposed to be there nobody said anything, ever. Hell my managers would stroll in 5-20 minutes late every day, spend 10 minutes talking and getting coffee, and then started work.

Can't blame anyone but yourself man. Don't give them reasons to fire you. You live and you learn though.
:manny: they did what they felt was best for business.. I aint mad at them for that. I am just saying they are petty and unrealistic.. but whether they fired me or not I would have left anyway so again fukk them and anybody that wants to play the there is no room for error card... But at this point there is nothing I can do about it but complain on here and aside from a 2 or 3 people everyone else see this as the bs that it is,, I will lose no sleep over this as I am sure they wont lose none over me :manny:.. its not like there are 1,000's of people walking around with a TS and over 5 years experience willing to do basically a desktop support position, so its there loss

How many times were you late before they warned you?

I noticed in many govt jobs the only thing they fire people for is being late. You can do next to nothing, constantly fukk up, miss deadlines, facebook all day, gossip and get in arguments, but 5 mins late oh hell no. fukk em breh IT temp jobs are a dime a dozen, your recruiter will send you somewhere else tomorrow. But next time remember nobody ever got fired for being early.

This is basically all IT jobs unless you cost the company a ton of money.. everytime somebody was fired here it was always because they were late..

knowledge wise we've had some ppl that should of been gone...lol

lol. You cant even haul ass here in the DMV though.. 495 is a pain everyday.. as soon as i hit it its stop n go. After I seen somebody get fired for being late and then the nxt week i got a warning i was like o hell no, I went from making $9/hr in a warehouse to $20/hr+ in a office.. I was not about to lose my job.. lol
