You were spending $3,640 on gas annually (but we know current prices aren't gonna be eternal, shiit will shoot back up
to 4 bucks in Spring - so let's say 4 g's on that petrol/ year).

Tolls as well, let's say 3 bucks a day, multiply that by 20 work days a month average... 720 bucks a year.


Not to discount the wear/tear on your whip from all that stop/go/distance commuting.


And not to mention, the 5 bucks you have to spend on starbucks to stay awake for the duration of the lengthy drive. That equates
to 1.2 racks on coffee beaners (not to mention, you gotta buy a cup for the girl you've been car pooling with - and we know she ain't paying for
shiit - no snaps on the gas, toll, lunch... etc. - so let's push that number to 2 racks let's say).


So just for travel related expenses, you getting set back about 8 thousand dollars for physical year.


That's a jagged little pill to swallow whole, brayestein.

Actually let me expand on my work place antics... I had 2 jobs at one point and was scheduled to be at job #2 at the time i was leaving job #1. I used to dip out 30-45 mins early 2-3 times a week. And my boss left 2 hours before me so i was in the clear
Then a chick up here made an offhand comment about what time i left to my super and i got busted. Cac said if he had someone to replace me with i wouldve been fired on the spot. But he didnt
I stopped with all the fukkery after that, but it just goes to show if you're good at your job its easier for them to let you get away with shyt than fire you and train a new nikka

I stroll into work about an hour late every damn day. My lateness has been an issue for the last 2 years, actually since I started working here 10 yrs ago. When I first started 8am was my starting time, couldnt make that. They pushed it back to 8:30, couldn't make that. They eventually pushed it back to 9:00am, couldnt tell you the last time I was in at 9:00. My boss doesnt care cause he knows I get all my shyt within the time I am here. HR is the one bytching so in my raise they deducted .05 % from the max, due to my lateness. A couple of weeks ago, the secretary in HR mentioned to me that "maybe you should speak to your boss about changing your start time again". Honestly, I dont really give a fukk. I'm office spacing this bytch right now. *Heads to local bar for late lunch*

So I just got fired for coming in 5 minutes late.. And not responding to emails after hours.. I'm already driving over an hour to get to work.. And to make matters worse they wait until I get in for the day to tell me..

same shyt happened to me when I was younger. It only motivated me to get a degree so I don't hae to deal with those types of a$$holes

I used to have this same problem and for a while it almost fukked up a promotion. They hated that I was always 5-10 minutes late. Meanwhile dude I was competing for the promotion against was the type to show up 20 minutes early. Thing is dude would show up 20 minutes early and bullshyt around the coffee pot or hang outside smoking for the first hour of his shift while I walked in straight to my desk working and usually stayed late working. Perception is everything unfortunately.

Only way you getting fired for being late on a job that doesnt have a time clock is if someone above you doesnt like you. In every career job ive had as long as you come in around the time you supposed to be there nobody said anything, ever. Hell my managers would stroll in 5-20 minutes late every day, spend 10 minutes talking and getting coffee, and then started work.

This...We don't even have a real set schedule......They just ask us to be there before 9( because what real meetings are taking place before then? )and its when you get there you just work your 8 hrs.


Only at the wack ass help desk did I have to be there at a certain time and clock in.......Imagine how I felt when I left that bytch and became exempt and found out I didn't have to clock in anymore

May be a low end IT gig. I can be hours late and they are still not firing me because no one outchea can program their way out of a paper bag or operate a network

Take this as a lesson learned

Aim to arrive at least 15 mins early.

I dont know why people even bother working for staffing agencies. Just go out and find a job for yourself, are you that lazy?


They are known for screwing people over. They stuff you in shyt jobs just so they can get paid. they dont give a shyt about you.

how old are you? Some places like Hospitals only accept new hires through staffing agencies.. they do this because they can do something like a 6 month contract with you and if they like you after the 6 months theyll hire you on through them (Kaiser and North Bay do this). If they just hire you regularly they cant just fire you after 6 months for no reason if they dont like, so they have a reason to get rid of you after 6 months if they dont like you.. "your contract is up, we decided to give another candidate a shot".
