215 Uptown!
Anyone from philly at that time will tell u Jihad was next. Hell there were 3-4 people who had "next" before Meek.

Jihad
Reed
Ness
Quilly

Jihad was doing high school tours back then selling headshot dvds shirts and hoodies. Every school from King all the way to GDUB knew Haddy's shyt word for word.

The youtube slump was the end of it. My high school sweetheart brother was a good friend of Peedi. I remember we were chilling one day and he told me Peedi told him Beans was trying to bring Joey Jihad and Nina Ross to State Property. Obviously that never happened.

I always said Jihad should come get some of this battle rap money right now. He still got it.

One of the most legendary philly freestlyes ever. Every day we rapped this word for word on the bus back from school lol.

Reed & Jihad had the glow at one point...Quilly looked like he might take off

It was never the same after haddy got dropped...even with people knowing what happened to breh afterwards, he couldnt shake that off his image

Plus he fell waaaaaaay off..putting out wack ish..and verses like these were few and far between

Never heard of him before that video. Wasn't that video from like 2003? How old was Meek back then like 15?

Hard to say. Just cause he was better than Meek or Meek "stole his flow" doesn't mean he was destined to be anything more than a mixtape rapper.
The Meek situation itself shows there is a large degree of luck and time and place involved with who blows and who doesn't

He had everything. He had the "It factor", a better rapper, charismatic, rode any beat. Labels were looking at him, but he was on the run...for something not even worth going on the run for.

These jawns were hilarious

i know, i was there as his whole "career" was in it's prime
just saying you can't say the KO ruined his chances then name 5 other rappers who never got knocked out and were at least close to his level and didn't make it (vodak, reed, etc)
every city has these local acts that ppl believe should've have blown i think

Jihad was better than Reed.

Haddy actually made catchy songs.
We all did. But Charlie Mack got behind Meek after In My Bag made noise, and that's all you need. Had Meek stayed with TI, he'd still be where Reed is now.

Of course Reed was the best, Haddy was right there, but rode with Kiss...and Quilly had yet to establish himself on their tier with music. Cys was with Game. Ironically D Jones is runnin with Kiss now.

Word.

I think Meek was smart because he was doing those radio/party records. No one else was doing that.

However, Haddy dropped this and it was fire.

Breh....where can I find all those old mixtapes.

I wanna listen now.

I remember they dropped the 17 minute freestyle:banderas:
