fukk outta here.

The only ignorance is you not understanding James Brown’s contribution to music, while at the same time propping up music that mostly appeals to cacs and nikkas that want to be cacs.
Not even bothering continuing this discussion because like I said, your opinion disqualifies you automatically. Have fun.

To tell the truth James Brown was old
Til Eric and Ra came out wit 'I Got Soul'

No Google. I Got Soul ain't even by James Brown. Feel free to @ me if I'm wrong

That's 1980s...he wasn't popular as a current act by that time but the impact of his music was. The dance music culture that exploded in the 1980s would have never come about w/o James Brown.

But the concept is real. I wouldn't say anyone was bumping James Brown, P Funk or any of that Classic R and B before Hip Hop dug it up and put bolts in its neck

Not to say NO ONE played that stuff, but I seen an interview with George Clinton. The sales of his old shyt SKYROCKETED after being sampled and used for 90s Hip Hop

You're welcome

P-Funk was still releasing albums in the 1980s

first you gotta understand like people said the 1 ... and how he made the 4/4 time signature come around and hit

but realistically he combined every genre to a sweet spot.... he was jazzy, funky, he was godfather of groove, he rocked, he had rhythm, sang the blues, controlled his band like cab calloway but with more than just a big band number.

only chuck berry named can say he did as much. James brown kind of meshed that all together like I said above... but slowed it down to be clean all at once... then added groove to whatever was happening. Like you can take that principle and attach it to Country music etc.... it was a whole new way of grooving and slamming back into a 4/4 beat.

people brought up Jimi but he didnt influence as strong as a Chuck Berry or James brown. Jimi is on his own planet really.... he wasnt the first to use a wah pedal or use distortion like was said. He was just the master of it.... and first to really not only get super technical and abstract... but he also added in those psychedelic layers of playing. Although Stevie Vai and whoever else you wanna name are influenced, not many people can actually replicate Jimi Hendrix at all. You cant pin metal or certain types of rock on Jimi because you can trace them back other places too. Jimi was just really one of a kind and people can play his notes... with his pedals and setup.... but its a longshot that many people are actually mimicking Jimi's talent level. Chuck Berry gave us rock and roll to even build off till this day which is the same structure really as James Brown with Groove. James Brown funked and grooved music to its simplest form in a tight and rocking manner. That can be applied anywhere. Miles Davis is another one who invented offshoots of different styles of Jazz ... probably the most in music history from what I know. While Miles genre's or Chuck's Rock N Roll or James Brown's tempo and groove/rhythm were easy to copy and apply. Jimi's shyt is 100% not just something you can step into. You can play spaced out shyt and say its psychedelic and then claim it reminds you of Jimi ... like say Tame Impala. But none of that is actually close to Jimi and his wreckless mind bending super technical, innovative guitar playing or songwriting. He wasnt "exactly" making new lanes.... (while he still was technically, breaking tradition) he was more like peaking at 5 different things at once. (Whirling feedback, weird time signatures, super technical licks over pop songs, no care in the world how heavy songs sounded, heavy use of effects and feel in music) Other 3 dudes actually laid out an entire style

I guess why James Brown is so big is because he didnt exactly lay a genre out
he literally layed a feeling, like a philosophy in music... You could technically apply his groove to Miles, Jimi, Chuck etc's music.

music wasnt super tight like that with a theory behind it
you had 12 bar blues, some tighter songs that just were what they were. But James was like "this is what it is and this is how we do it"

wasnt gonna write it but whatever... James Brown is like the Bruce Lee of music ... he birthed alot of "fighters" with his philosophy. alot of cats can "fight" but they didnt conceptualize the philosophy behind the movements.

And I fukk with Jimi but his impact on funk music pails in comparison to James Brown.

Michael And both Prince looked up to James Brown and Prince strived to have a band as tight as James.

Most of that performance is Prince copying James..from the dancing to stopping the band on the 1 count.

And Michael was distraught and cried when Jamea Brown refused to appear onstage at the victory tour due to the ticket scandal..shyt Jackson 5 got the Motown contract by Michael doing his best James Brown moves.

:wow:

It was never a discussion, it was a lesson for you.

You came in talking like an authority, got put in your place, and got your feelings hurt.

Hope you learned something in the process.

this is frustratingly ignorant and should automatically disqualify any opinion you have on music. Prince, Ernie Isley, Vernon Reid and Slash are white boys?

To you and the general youse in rap.
He is telling you the truth.
Not to mention,...
You ain't never dug in the crate.
If you did.
You dug in the crate in a vaccuum.

Jimi being praised is audiophile praise and segregationalism in music.
coming from a place of misappropriation. Which is all neatly tucked away and hidden. Behind the timeline.
of chuck berry being jailed for being with white woman.
In that whole audiophile segregationalism. That even affects the business of rap to this day. That came back in the form of racism.
from hhi.com and fard, el-p and the troll owner of rawkus Rupert murdoch and his misappropriation coven of kids.
Which killed the cultural integrity of numerous artists.
by proxy and wrongly in mos def most importantly.
So to even talk about james brown.
Is a lesson in this music misappropriation segregationalism.

Where hiphop actual culture defeated all this.

Yet ruthless records runs the world and re-engineered all this with jerry heller.
By luck being gift wrapped ruthless records. To fall right in his lap. To then gain exodus. from poisoning rock. till its original endgame of big hair. Then sail off on the ruthless flagship and basically misappropriate the same bullshyt thievery. That hiphop culture and the business of rap in the new school way of thought. Almost completely snuffed out of existence.
through knowledge and education of the consumer of culture based hiphop records.
crafted in the business of rap in the new school way of thought.

If you do not think so it is.

It also takes place in having to swing into discussion of my music reviews here.
Plus why those who lack knowledge of self on here. expose themselves so much. Then wonder why the peanut gallery.
gets such joy outta people get put through it and the table as well. As the people culturally in the know. Understand verbiage and culture. As to ascertain when i am reviewing a rap record and under which ideals i am forced to dually review the record. Till the point of no return. Where culturally hiphop has been completely removed from the business of rap. Where now rap is a jerry heller audiophile white misappropriated prison industrial economy based product through and through. Plus reached and been politicized to the culture lacking point of no return after the crimes of krs. Fueled and retroacted anything positive culturally.
Neutering the complete fruition of the new school way of thought.

So.to discuss jb.
We will have to delve into the fake subculture and racial segregationalism from audiophiles. Who have ruined america using black music and artist wrongly for their revenue grab culture thievery and misappropriation.

He monopolized & isolated the south and Midwest in terms of getting CONSTANT airplay with him & his artists the way 50 Cent monopolized & isolated newyork rap from 2002-2010.

It was something else
