Can't call it. I kinda feel like Tyson was more popular world wide than Jordan before he went to jail. You gotta get the UK flabby heads to confirm that though.

As far as I remember Tyson was always more popping over here. We never really cared about Basketball or Jordan. Obviously people would know who Jordan was but I doubt he would've caused the same excitement Iron Mike did in the 90s in London. I think American boxers were always more popular e.g Ali, Tyson, Mayweather

That's what I figured. Even between 86-95 when I was a youngin boxing felt like a world wide thing where basketball struggled even being the top sport in the US at that time.

It's amazing how secluded from the world we are and this thread is kind of a testament to that.


Kind of related, I remember when breaking bad got popular and foreign viewers were confused by the plot.


They were basically like:

You mean to tell me you can lose generational wealth and go bankrupt just because you got sick

The premise of that show could only happen here.
