For Hogan to be the hero, he sure did a lotta heel-type sh*t.

Savage: portrayed as former friend jealous of Hogan's relationship with his woman. Hogan's character acted thirsty as shyt about Elizabeth, eliminated Macho from the Rumble for no apparent reason when they were going in as "a unit", carried Elizabeth to the back while Savage got his ass beat by two 400-pound muhfukkas... meanwhile Savage is taking all of this in stride before finally losing his shyt and knockin' Hogan out. Why are we supposed to boo Savage?
:heh: hogan stayed snaking savage

and Sid: former friend jealous of Hogan just because. This one was almost too blatant for words. Hogan gets eliminated from the Rumble by Sid, acts like a sore loser, pulls Sid out of the ring which helps Ric Flair win... and he's the good guy?

this should be added to the "ruin wrestling with common logic thread." How they gonna let a guy on the outside pull you out the ring, and count it as a win? And this was for the title too.:shaq2:

Anybody else does this shyt, he's the heel. If this was Ric Flair in NWA, backstabbing the other Horsemen and never being there for them, it woulda been the perfect villain. Hogan shyts on his friends and he's a hero!

on point:pachaha:

it's funny how when shyt was flipped and savage won WW3 due to hogan being taken out illegally, Savage was like "I aint see shyt man":lolbron:

This belongs in that other thread too. How is Fuji just gonna set up a VERBAL Championship match ON THE SPOT on PPV? Lol, no contracts needs to be signed, no additional physicals needed, etc.

That musta been the shortest title reign in history for Yoko.

There are a TON of mistruths in the 1st post, also in the post about the Vince was desperate to lose stars shyt about Mania. I mean that is not even CLOSE to why that happened at all. Hogan was leaving anyway, everyone knew, he left like 6 months later, so why would it matter? It's like, do people just make stuff up to make stuff up or what?

Is ANY of this from any credible source? Because I have never read 90% of the shyt spewed here.

Hogan pulled Sid over the top. Giant pulled Hogan under the ropes.

I think it's pretty much been documented that Hogan manipulated his way into that title win at Mania IX, didn't show up on TV during any of that title reign, and had no plans to put Hart back over. And if you look at WWF at that time, Vince clearly wasn't fully ready to trust his younger stars with the ball yet. He had just lost/fired Warrior, Flair, LOD, and Savage was injured... Bret was doing a good job but wasn't THAT guy yet, and for whatever reason Undertaker was midcarding. I could be wrong about some of this, but Hogan MIGHT have been the last straw that finally signified that it was time to keep pushin'.

As far as the original post, I understand WHY he was the face in all of those feuds... but beneath the surface, anyone else doing things like that would have been closer to being a heel than a face, especially the Sid and Orndorff examples. True or not?

This is what happened at that Mania.

Hart was scheduled to lose to Yoko. Hogan, finding this out, convinced Vince to let him win because Hogan believed sending fans upset home at Mania was not the right thing to do. So he went in there (at the blessing of Hart you see that he asked him if he could go in) and beat Yoko for the belt. He did show up on TV with the belt a few times but not many. The whole plan that on his way out he would put over someone and that one was Yoko - he did not think Hart could be the guy. Honestly, if you watch the HUGE pop he got for winning the belt at the end why do people argue with him? I'm not saying I liked it.

Hart/Hogan/Yoko all knew the deal of that Mania and agreed with it, I feel like it's in Bret's book and I feel like he didn't have anything negative to say about that event - I could be off but it's been a long time since I read it.

But this whole crap about Vince not trusting young stars or something, what are you talking about, Hogan was still on the roster so they had to use him until they couldn't. He is fukking Hulk Hogan. He started the "New Generation" after that so obviously he was ready for new young stars.

Obviously Hogan is legendary for shady backstage shyt, but I mean, if no one is even going to attempt to stop him then why would he stop? For example at that Mania, Yoko and Hart both could have threw a fit - they didn't.

As far as everything else, all the Andre shyt you typed was COMPLETELY off. Andre was nearing the end of his career and he put over Hogan. It was completely up to Andre if he wanted to beat Hogan, Hogan has talked about this multiple times. He has not been the best source on anything, but he has always been straight up on Andre - that's his hero.
