For people trying to put Curry, Lebron, Kobe on MJ's level all I have to do is sum it up with..

I think there's a distinction between "best" and "most important" or "most valuable". Steph was unarguably Golden State's best player, but definitely more subjective when you talk most valuable, particularly in that series/matchup.

Agreed, that's just silly.

91, wasn't Worthy hurt? That was an old Lakers team, I think MJ would've still beat them.
98 yeah, but you can't make a serious argument the Pip could've won either of those series without Jordan.

Strongly disagree with this. Iggy defends Bron better than anybody in the league. Without him Bron might have dropped 40ppg. He was the only Cav who could even get to the rim, so Green's rim protection was relatively unimportant and he didn't have to do anything but box out when Thompson was on the floor because he was pretty much zero offensive threat.

Yeah, the Cavs basically had to concede open shots to Iggy, but if he doesn't shoot 50% from the field and 40% from 3 they would've been in trouble. No doubt Steph's greatness opened the door for that, but he still had to perform.

Good point, but that's kind of abstract when you talk about mvp of a series. Everybody knows how Steph makes everyone around him better simply by being on the court.

Granted a lot of this is just circumstantial, if Warriors beat a healthy Cavs team Steph is obviously going to be MVP, but they simply didn't need him to be Steph against a short-handed Cavs team. I mean its not like the coli GSW hate convention voted for Finals MVP, it was the same media that LOVES Steph.

One thing we do agree on, is that this thread while true is just a Steph/GSW hate thread, main reason I didn't post in here until now.
In 1991? Yeah I think both him and Scott were hurt. Could be wrong on that though.

Oh no doubt, which is why I've been reiterating that he had the most impact in the series. The semantics of those aside, he was the main reason they won in the Finals.

I'm not specifically talking about who was best on Bron, but who had the most defensive impact during the series. Green's rim protection and ability to control the paint was paramount in the Finals. Regardless if Bron was the only legitimate driving threat - there were still players cutting, running off the ball and bigs getting touches down low. Not to mention whenever Bron would go to the rim, his shot would be contested by Draymond. This is all without mentioning the 1v1 situations he had with LeBron, where was just as effective as Iggy. Except he couldn't stay on him full time because GS didn't have anybody out there to protect the rim/blow up PnRs. The amount of roles Draymond had and could play was the most essential part of their defense - which was stamped by him having a '5 steals and 4 blocks' performance early in the series.

Folk like to point to Iggy as being the main one who changed the shape of the series, when Draymond's ability to anchor the defense without Bogut was the engine behind it.

It's more of the fact that Iggy wasn't really creating his own offense. Which granted he still had to perform, but I mean shyt how many players get FMVP when their offensive opportunities have been gift wrapped for them to that degree?

I don't necessarily mean his presence, I mean all the secondary assists he had, purposefully dragging in extra defenders and all the right passes he made to open up the floor. That's not abstract at all.

BREAUGHS @Gil Scott-Heroin POSTED 34 TIMES IN THIS THREAD
:merchant:AND DID RECIEVE ONE SINGLE DAP.

:why:HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

JUST ADMIT YOU WERE WRONG.

i) Obviously you can't count
ii) I don't post for daps
iii) Daps aren't indicative of being right or wrong.
iv) There's been at least three people in here who've either agreed with my stance or understand what I'm trying to illustrate

READ AGAIN .. DURATION OF PRIME. ENTIRE PRIME W PIPPEN >>>> DEVELOPMENT YEARS+ENTERING PRIME YEARS W SHAQ

They're both arguably top 2 sidekicks of all time
I think I give the edge to pippen because he wasn't a jealous bytch and knew his role
Both were GREAT sidekicks though without a doubt

Man....don't even compare Curry to Jordan. Stop.

Stick with the Kobe and Lebron comparisons, which are already outlandish considering those guys' longevity. Kobe and Lebron barely match up to MJ.

@CHICAGO

Isn't it ironic how some of the posters who dapped you quoting Jordan's and Pippen's box scores also think that Iggy deserved to win FMVP over Curry. :mjpls:

Seriously I don't know why curry is being compared in any way to mj. I think curry is having a great season but anyone who actually watched mj from the 80s and 90s knows it's a blasphemous comparison. Postseason is even more of a disconnect.

Even pippen would laugh at the notion he deserved fmvp in any of those finals.
