see that's my point...our parents(African Americans)...(your British right?) was partying , getting fukked up and fukking each other...having interracial sex in the 70s...they weren't building nothing
This is the very unfortunate reality of Black Baby Boomers. They grew up with an array of entitlements and secured money from their parents and thus spent time that
should've been dedicated towards building for the next generation on drugs and illicit activities. They are ones responsible for the Black community being in complete shambles. Too many people are insulted by the idea of Black Baby Boomers not doing their job but it's entirely true. Take a look at the accomplishment under their parent's belt and the economic prosperity they ensured for their children. Now look at the Black Boomers. What economic opportunities did they provide the Millennials? Nothing. Their children are worse off economically than they ever were. Unfortunately, while Asians were building waterfront property in Northwest Pacific cities to collect millions in real estate revenue and Whites were scamming bureaucracies to gain wealth and enter Wall Street, Black people were in the midst of a crack and welfare epidemic with a broken family structure thanks to their advocacy of recklessness and non-traditionalism. Black people of that generation did not spend an ounce of effort providing any sort of profitable or valuable market for their subsequent generations. Now their children are left to fend for themselves.
Black Millennials need to stop making excuses for the Black Boomers' failures. Their selfishness and greed had nothing to do with "hardship". It's the fact that their entire generation is self-centered, they were never interested in anything that didn't involve them. They never tried upholding the Black community; in fact, they went on numerous tangents to destroy it by advocating free love, free drugs and other reckless social structures that no generation before them ever campaigned for (hence why we still had a strong community back then). Outside of the Panther movement, what did Black Boomers try to do to benefit the community? Nothing. They were the first Black generation in our history to abandon the community in turn for their own material gain. They never worked on building a foundation. No savings accounts, no funds for their children.
then we have to start from 0 in a racist cut throat capitalistic society.....
And what's even more sad is that there are non-stop excuses in the Black community for why parents could not do an adequate job of providing for their children. "Mom couldn't go to college because she had to raise you all" "Dad was out trying to make money, what time could he possibly have had to take care of you" "Mom and Dad never had money because they were trying to take care of the kids and the house" It's always an excuse for why Black parents never attempted upward socioeconomic mobility. There's thousands of redundant excuses circling around the Black community as to why Mom and Dad couldn't get their children out of the ghetto, and none of them are reasonable. There are Asian families that have to put in heavy loads of work to get their children out of impoverished areas and over to America. They conquer their poverty and then teach their children finances and push them hard in school to make sure that they will be better off, prepared for the future, grow up in a safe environment, and get accepted to a school that will teach them valuable skills. Why aren't there Black parents doing the same? Because in the Black community there is always an excuse. Black Boomers can't
ever be held accountable for their actions, it's always
someone elses fault as to why they failed doing an adequate job of building and providing.
I got cousins in their 20s thats done...its sad...all they do is smoke weed and chill at home...they got felonies and cant get jobs...
I don't think this has anything to do with Capitalism, it's more so that many parents are lazy and simply don't teach their children any life skills. So when they end up an adult they have not a clue of how to stand on their own two feet and thus resort to doing drugs and committing crimes all day. Black Boomers didn't invest time in their children, they invested it in themselves. Many, if not most Millennials were never taught finances, economic, or any important information by any parental figure.
