all the dirt they can hit biden with bounces right back on chump. only way he loses the nom is if his mouth gets him in trouble. highly unlikely he drops out. bernie's coalition needs more people and his recent health scare didn't do him any favors. warren hasn't really been battle tested, men aren't gonna be amped to vote for her, white women proved to be fickle once behind that curtain. i'm voting for whoever gets the nom, but there's a concerning lack of excitement around any of these candidates. maybe that changes some in the general, but imo this will probably be the dirtiest campaign ever run by the gop.

No it's not because the primary can't account for a lot of independents and people who could flip in a general election (like they did against Hillary, for some of the flaws Joe has) when presented with a brand of populism to counter Trumps.com
but bernie and liz should still be able to win when the field is literally ONLY democrats :dead:

also, the biden- hillary comparisons are trash, you guys are smarter than that. ill give you biden-kerry, but anyone comparing biden and hillary is a dotard

If Biden is going to lose in the General, that means Liz and Bernie would lose in the General, because Liz and Bernie couldn’t beat Biden in the democratic primary. So by that Logic, it’s a waste of time for you to be supporting anyone.

I never agreed with that logic

Bernie would have beat trump in 2016 :hubie:

That made him a better general election candidate than hillary :hubie:

Bernie won 11/13 caucuses and some open primaries and didnt beat hillary in one closed primary, at all.

Trump beat hillary with independents

I'm not a Biden supporter, but anybody who wouldn't vote for Biden because of Burisma or whatever BS was just looking for an excuse to vote for Trump and would have regardless.

Odds are Trump will win the general regardless, but it's not an excuse not to vote.

That said there's no real reason to think that the person who does best in the primary is automatically the one who would do best in the general.

Centrist Dems would rather lose to Trump again than have Bernie win.

I dont know breh, this Trump presidency is pretty bad.

Trump was still an unpleasant surprise in 2016 and his presidency confirmed all Democrats' worst fears.

I think the centrist will hold their nose and vote for Bernie if he is the nominee. I cant say the progressive would do it for Biden. I learned that lesson from 2016.

Biden is a gaffe machine and this Burisma stuff with the Russian hacking now crap got me with PTSD from 2016 and the emails.

No the fukk they won't.

They by in large would 100% lose the election to Trump than have Bernie win because at the very least, nothing for THEM changes, they can continue collecting checks and donations from the same people Trump gets them from. They would gladly tank the election to keep Bernie Sanders from putting a spotlight on the corruption going both ways in Washington.

He is the left's version of Trump in the sense that the party tried their damnedest (and failed) to keep him from winning and rearranging the party in his image. A Bernie Sanders victory isn't just 4 years til the next cycle, he's not a stop gap. A Sanders presidency is a referendum of neoliberalism and croney capitalism that defines what "Democrat" means to the average person in this country.

A Bernie Sanders victory isn't just 4 years til the next cycle, it's a referendum of neoliberalism that would only be further legitimized by him making it into office. He's not a place holder or a stop gap, a Sanders presidency is a referendum of neoliberalism and croney capitalism that defines what "Democrat" means to the average person in this country.

I get what u are saying but I thought we were talking about the people and not the powers that be in Washington.

I know the democratic machine is hell bent to stop Bernie. I'm pretty centrist with left leaning but I know that Bernie is the best shot to defeat Trump in 2020.

And anyway, the Trump presidency was a rebuke on neoliberalism and the crony capitalism of the democratic and Republican parties. Trump destroyed the Republican party and built it in his own image and the powers that be tried to block it but the populist movement overwhelmed it. It's the democratic party's turn now.

They have no control in this process I think. They weighed the scales in 2016 for Hillary and it backfired.A populist movement is the only thing that will stop Trump in 2020. It's their best shot at him. I think they know that and it's really the lesser of two evils. The Trump Presidency for two terms is dangerous for the country.

Thats the problem though. That doesn't make biden clean

The White House narrative defense of his impeachment was that he was doing a good faith official investigation into Joe Biden for corruption. (Officially being a lie and he did so illegally)

Democrats (biden) will point to Trump's corruption to say he's an unfit leader

Imagine that playing out on the debate stage. A literal he said she said mudslinging contest that a pig like Trump thrives in. Simultaneously attacking both his impeachment and opponent with the bonus of being able to frame his impeachment through the lense of defending biden and helping him achieve the presidency. Hillary shyt vibes.

Regardless of the validity of his defenses, do you think a circus like THAT will energize the folks that stayed home in 2016

Biden has the same flaws as Hillary without the low unfavorables. If he wins the primary we just have to hope that's enough this time.

It's gonna suck for the down ballot though.

Its looking more and more like 2016 re-mixed is happening

For any of you who played Metal Gear Solid games... if you played MGS2, the 'Patriots' re-orchestrated the incident of events that happened in MGS1 as part the AI system's crisis management capabilities.

It seems like we're having a similar situation here.
