I have no doubt the CEO of my company is a racist, I have no evidence but I know because this is America.
I would rather him pay me our agreed upon wages me than call me a negro and refuse to pay me.

If he becomes openly racist, it will not be a shock to me. However I would hope it would be a shock to the company's stock social standing.

It's kind of a chicken & egg sort of thing because they both breed each other. Covert racism represses how whites feel -- and some of them act out in overt ways sporadically. Overt racism on the other hand, gets them in trouble and so they are forced to repress into covert racism until that boils over. I see it as a cycle for them. It never goes away because overt or covert they go home and complain about it and teach it to their children.

I do, personally, think it's dangerous that so many black people nowadays are 'shocked' by racism. That means the pretending was working despite us not really making any significant strides. That's not ok. And I personally think it's worse for them to be able to say 'see, we're not being racist -- you're not getting anywhere because you truly are 'inferior' rather than just openly acknowledge racism permeates everything. Some blacks these days really do think they didn't get the job 'cause they weren't the best fit' despite evidence to the contrary.
