aiird, i remember this now.
i guess it came back to me, cuz now i vividly remember somebody breaking the story down to me in the lunchroom.
this had to be 2002, right??
It's crazy man, these NBA nikkas is like super humans compared to us
I remember one time in the park this old nikka told me I have to consistently be able to hit 20 3s in a row and I could make it to the League.
It was too late by then.
Clear difference. My first was seeing Kenyon Martin. Just a huge difference.
What's crazy is, the dudes who have that same talent but then don't end up making it to the nba. I saw dudes who literally hit every shot they took in games, then get to college and got hurt or something.
especially size. no disrespect to jameer nelson - who is small by nba standards himself, but the best player I ever saw on chester was the real short ass point guard that they had about 10 years ago. really, most of the best players Ive ever seen pound-for-pound were smaller guys. even in the league. peep the avi.
It looks like they're playing a completely different sport
I saw Lebron vs my HS the year before I went there. We were either in the midst or just coming off a state 3 peat, with the NC POY in Reyshawn Terry (Small Forward, Tar Heels / Mavs). And he had absolutely fukking NOTHING for Lebron. It was honestly frightening how vast the gulf was
Chris Paul in HS? Forget about it. He did whatever he wanted to, whenever, to whomever, and as often as he wanted to. Saw him often since he went to school across town.
I'm played HS in the mid to late 90s so it was really just before AAU really blew up. Only person I played on the court with who I knew 100% was going to the NBA was Tim Thomas. Of course back then I was cocky myself and I never admitted it then but he was in another world.
Played in a tournament with Kobe and I was like "he ain't all that"My cousin played for St Anthony's and beat his team and it allowed me to hate on him more.
I played against Jay Williams in HS but he was a few years younger and wasn't noticeable whatsoever. The only reason why I even remembered him because he was the only black kid on the team and we played them often. I come back to see a high school game on break from college and people are telling me he's going to Duke. Dude must have been putting in extra work because he definitely wasn't a prodigy.
