Lord Finesse and DJ Mike Smooth- the Funky Technician. 1990 was a landmark year for Hip Hop. Brand Nubian and Tribe Called Quest made classic debuts. Although Gang Starr debuted a year earlier, DJ Premier produces most of the tracks on this Lord Finesse album. This album is a masterpiece on production alone. But Lord Finesse proves he’s no slouch on the mic painting vivid stories like on “Lesson to be Taught”. Much like Gang Starr, Lord Finesse blurs the line between street rap and conscious Jazz rap on this golden era album.

yeah

bro, i will never forget.

That album came out when Tower Records was going out of business

long story short, I'm in Tower Records when they're going through their "out business" sale and just browsing and looking to see what I could find, after like 5 minutes of looking through albums, I stumble right on that album!!!

That album had no promotion or anything at the time, this is like 2004.

I brought it for like 5 dollars.

got right in my car, and started listening to it right away

i even took the long way home just to hear the album from start to finish

Great album

R.I.P. Shock G :mjcry:
