TYRONE GA!
You guys are answering your own questions.

They have pretty hefty UFC and NASCAR deals. They're hitting their targets... I wouldn't expect anyone to knock off ESPN any time soon.

With the new NBA deal though, it is KINDA possible that they'd maybe be in play for some bigger things in the future in that regard. But you really can't expect a fledgling network to swing with a giant like ESPN.

Murdock WILL overpay for piece of the NBA pie. They could steal that from ESPN. I don't see Silver letting the TNT/NBA partnership dissolve either.

NBA on Fox is probably coming brehs.....

Fox already picked up the World Cup (starting with Women's World Cup summer '15 which will be big) and made a massive offer for MLS starting next season. Despite NBC treating MLS better they couldn't say no. So they are already making tiny moves here and there to claw upwards.

Anyone ever watch The Crowd Goes Wild when it was still on? :wow: an embarrassment to the gawd Regis Philbin's career and he knew it.

Horrible channel and overall awful segments in just about everything. The America's Pregame is pretty cool though, unique concept of focusing on the night ahead -- rather than overanalyzing the previous night's bullshy (like FS Live and SC)t, so I give them credit for that.

Most relevant game I seen on there was when Baylor destroyed Oklahoma

Once again ESPN got the better game that Thursday night

NBCSN is doing a great job in offering sports that the other networks don't cover (EPL, World Racing, and F1).

tho FS1 getting champions league and bundesliga in 2015-16 could see a boost in rating.

the real struggle network is CBS sports imo. i haven't watched that shyt in months :manny:

FS1 is too overproduced like ESPN.
They should go the chill route.

all the channels will be subpar without a fair distribution of the 4 major leagues and the right mix of college sports...i don't get the complaining. its' also going to take awhile for them to develop solid shows and get the mix of on-air talent right, followings don't happen over night

My nikka Mike Hill should have stayed at ESPN, FS1 looking like a redux of the failed Fox Sports

FS1 is canceling America's Pregame

The FS1 graveyard just picked up another headstone. America’s Pregame is the network’s latest casualty and joins a long list including Crowd Goes Wild, Fox Football Daily, Fox Soccer Daily, Fox College Saturday, Mike Francesa, etc, etc.

John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reports that APG will get the axe and be replaced with *shudders* a Colin Cowherd clip show. Woof.

FS1 declined comment this evening to Awful Announcing on the matter.

America’s Pregame debuted in the spring of 2014 with co-hosts Mike Hill and Molly McGrath replacing a previously canceled program – Fox Football Daily. Its main emphasis was to give FS1 some nightly live studio coverage that leveraged its regional networks around the country to provide relevant analysis for the night’s games. With Fox’s live event schedule, it also served as shoulder programming for soccer, UFC, and more. McGrath is currently a sideline reporter for Fox’s college football coverage, it’s unknown whether Hill will be assigned elsewhere at this time. McGrath tweeted the following:

Ultimately though, like the wide majority of FS1 studio programming, the viewers weren’t there. Last week APG averaged just 37,000 viewersaccording to our Douglas Pucci. The week before was just 29,000 viewers. It’s the same story as we’ve seen with all the FS1 studio shows listed above that have failed to resonate with sports fans and stand on their own independent of live sports lead-ins.

Will a Colin Cowherd clip show improve? The difference will likely be marginal, if there is any. The Herd averaged just 46,000 viewers last week and it’s hard to imagine a clip show of a morning radio show in the evening being a magnet for viewers. But it least it won’t cost anything, I guess. And with FS1 paying Cowherd mega-millions in the midst of budget cuts elsewhere, maybe that’s the most deciding factor here. Wow that’s a depressing paragraph for the state of the industry.
