NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
To be honest, away from Rage, Paula Perry and Bahamadia, most female MC's were written for.

I think impact should be awarded though. Lyte, Latifah, and Salt & Pepa are undeniable Hip Hop legends. What Kim brought in around mid-'95 was impactful too. So she deserved to be honored. Foxy always said she looked up to Kim back in the day, before they started beefing and when they were talking about doing the Thelma and Louise album. Kim's first album is arguably a classic. She was definitely a natural while B.I.G. was still behind the scenes doing the writing and coaching. Foxy was dope as hell, but she wasn't as dope as Kim was early on, in my opinion.

I can't see them not honoring Lauryn. She took the female MC to levels it hasn't been since then. Even though she didn't do all the writing and producing, what she did with her album hasn't been done since that dropped. Which is probably why it kinda ended there for her. It's hard to top that kind of classic work.
I liked Foxy better than Kim early on. And I don't think Rah Digga was written for either.

You guys do realize that Suga T, Mia X and Da Brat were all there right? They came onstage with Queen Latifah at the end.

Again, I think Foxy wasn't invited because she had beef with so many of the artists that were there.
It's easy to forget, but her wiki refreshed my memory. These are all the people that she beefed with THAT WERE THERE

Queen Latifah
Mc Lyte (yes she beefed with Latifah AND Lyte)
Lil Kim
Remy Ma
Eve
Lady of Rage
Nikki D
Ms. Jade

So Foxy wasn't invited because she's a POS individual. But if we are strictly talking about what she has done in the rap game, she definitely DESERVES to be honored.
Kim beefed wit Remy Ma. MC Lyte. Foxy etc.. Let's not get it twisted she had her fair share of beefs as well. Really no excuse for not inviting Foxy. She had more success as a female rapper than about 90% of who was invited. Overall tho. Both her and Lauryn kinda crazy. Lol.

Damn shame.

She writes like how a deaf person would write. Capitalized words out of no where and captioning shyt with exclamations points.

shyts hilarious. And she reminded me without Lauryn hill that honor shyt is worthless. More talented than all those women put together.

Lauren hill is a voice over artist like all the female voice over artist they honored.
Since the female game likes to operate beyond the rules of the culture.
Once you know the facts and the real about the situations.
It is like it is all some fraud sendoff shyt culturally.
That at the end of the day it is like you fake female rappers don't deserve an accolade culturally. So, if you do get a vh1 thing cool for you, Culture thief.
This whole idea that Lauren and even latifah are these culturally more bout it artist is a flodge'n ass lie.
As both used and violated the culture and never wrote any of their shyt themselves.
La, is the one that hurts the most because she was in native tongues and her and sha from flavor unit I held in high esteem.
before learning we were all fooled as far as la's creative process and her native black queen marketing.
Which after we all find out is a lie and she is actually just a gay female. Which would totally be against her righteous enlightened original marketing from all hail the queen.
So, the whole phoney bullshyt of the female game is all a send off.
Bahamadia is the only female from the nineties era and the plus one of the funky four are really the only females.
who should he honored culturally for real first before any of the voice over artist if we talking era to era.
As anything from the start of the new school way of thought to the mid nineties we were all lied to about as far as female rappers go.

What about lady of rage

Her solo came at the end of the death row era where they were off admin wise.
That she at times to casuals is not considered a Gen one dr artist when she really is a Dr Gen one artist.

:what: Google's ya friend breh...Q.Latifah produced the show...she and Foxy had beef..Foxy dissed and QL wrote an epic response back...

Both their writing pools wrote the disses, breh.
We were all sent off and la fought so feverishly.
All because latifah was flodge'n just as much career wise as foxy.
How you gon diss foxy for being heterosexual and culturally showing what her culture is about.
Then, you have background masquerading as a heterosexual righteous woman but you really a gay lesbo with a head dress.

shyt is all bullshyt and why that battle had no draw at the time and still has no draw or legacy.
I love la, flavor unit and sha, but real is real.

Foxy Brown really put the dancehall scene on before Drake.

Baby Sham, Spragga Benz and other dancehall artists were amoungst her collaborators. She even addresses other female rappers in the 2nd verse of this song...

it was to the point that Lil Kim even jumped on the wave

Dancehall was always a featured part of rap in the hardcore bboy revolution.
Foxy should not be credited for what you said at all.

Man I need receipts that lauryn ain't write her raps. Her r and b and acoustic shyt I don't mind if she ain't write too much becuase it's all about melodies and harmonies blah blah blah.

But I need to be sure that lauryn hill ain't write Mystery of iniquity.

Young Zee wrote for Digga.

You can hear it if you listen closely, it's the exact same flow. But confirmation didn't come until Lord Have Mercy put her on blast on that DVD he dropped for his mixtape after he left Flipmode.
