No but if your dad is a cop and the rest of your siblings are middle class upstanding members of society, joining the Vice Lords in your 30s and pretending to be Nino Brown strikes me as...performative. I like Gibbs' music but come on.

He was always on that tip but I really think he went overboard when Griselda showed up and Durk started becoming that dude. He's so used to doing this stuff to impress or scare white boys in Malibu that maybe he doesn't see how goofy it is.
he had vice lords in his videos earlier in his career, his 30’s would be quite a reach.

idk the history of this nikka but if he was a lord in his teens then the back story is a bit different, growing up in Gary this would be the common case, I like his music but I agree with you he is a bit too extra and comes off corny, for some reason the other rappers and celebs he is cool with don’t mind his cocky attitude.

I think it’s the fact that you grow up having all the necessities in life to succeed and you rather choose the streets is the disgust about it. Most people have no choice in their situations. Those that did and choose otherwise are always looked at as wannabes. Something don’t sit right with those kind.

:stopitslime: Miss me with that didnt have a choice. Nikkas who choose to be street nikkas overwhelmingly do it because the lifestyle. Money, cars, clothes, and hoes. The same lifestyle that would entice somebody who isnt from the hood.

Dudes be above working a 9-5 but rather choose a life of crime. There are ALOT of upstanding, successful, productive citizens who come from the hood.

Everybody has a choice.

What does his father and siblings career have to do with the lifestyle he chose?

Does it make sense? Hell no

But it doesnt make him less qualified to rap about what he talking about.

He chose to gangbang when he was a nobody. Alot of rappers get famous and THEN choose to gangbang in their mid 20s. Thats even more crazy.

I grew up in the innercity from 0-24.

Then worked, earned money and rented my first apartment in my same area - Bergamot, Rexdale Toronto.

It wasn't horrible warfare. But I was around drugs and crime.

Plus I come from a broken home. There are tonnes of people in the hood in a nuclear family that move on to better - early.

I went to College off my McDonald's work.

I chose to get educated and grow as a person

Want a Coli discussion? How about those from the hood who try the right Path - work - school - and still face big frustrations as adults? There's alot out there. When higher education doesn't lead to better work and money?

Nas' track second childhood is very real cause of that verse about older dudes pulling moves in the hood.

It's scary in reality.

All love tho, all love.

Freddie is a trip to me because he disrespected ll Cool J.

He also bragged about shooting a crack addict.

Why shoot a crack addict? The story seemed like the addict was no threat to Gibbs either.

I keep hearing he's dope, but personally I don't deal with him.

He's way more successful than I am as a rapper so hey best of luck to him.

I just want my message to shine as well. As well as other dope rappers who are currently obscure.

Personally I have never seen people get lots of cars, and success from street work long term.

From what I saw in reality was minor success, cars, for like 10 years - then jail, injury, Mental health issues, broken legacies etc

In reality I'm curious anyone on Coli seen big success off street work?

Don't get into names or specifics - but has anyone here seen big success or any success of street work?

Then the worst kind..people who grew up in good homes and want to bang. That shyt should never be respected. Plus all the goofy shyt he be talking about like shooting a crackhead..

Pimp C told y’all to watch out for rappers like him.
It's no different from characters like this clown

brayden-walks-power-book-ii-ghost-season-1-episode-6

Come from a good home but out here trying to be hard and committing crimes because you got nothing better to do with your time. Rebelling because your folks had the audacity to want to give their child a decent life

But I guess if you rap fast over Alchemist and Madlib beats, that'll make everything OK :mjlol:

Not only the fact that you're looking up to Lamedemiks exposes how sheltered most of you are, but the fact that a mf can't be the rotten apple of the family proves how controlled by your parents are.

If you want to tell us you are a complete moron that lives through internet just say you like Akademiks and Hassan Cambell.

Akademiks podcast is so dead he’s been forced to go out in public and go on actual successful podcasts to drum up some hype :mjlol:. Don’t be fooled, he’s desperate for any and all attention right now to get his numbers up. He’s had Wack on there twice already trying to drink from the dried up well of 6ix9ine :mjcry:.

He went viral for Brittany Renner and now Vlad is even overshadowing that. Spotify is not happy with their investment.

And still no one is listening :ehh:
