That sounds more like a typical, gradual decline. And the problems you speak of with centers pulling him out to the 3pt line aren't really any different than those many other top centers like KAT, Gobert, Sabonis, Vucevic, Valanciunas, etc. will face as they age. Even Embiid is just another leg injury away from being unable to defend effectively on the perimeter.

MPJ in his last two games without Jokic:What makes Jokic so unique? If Sabonis was in the league during his prime, he would’ve been Jokic. Jokic cannot be your best player if you’re competing for a championship.
Only someone who views the game through statistics (like you) would think otherwise. As proven last playoffs, he CANNOT produce a basket when you most need one, whether passing or going to get one for himself.
MPJ would be the most talented player on the floor, with the skill set and athleticism to take over games when necessary.

MPJ is a talented scorer when he's on, but he remains one of the worst ball-stoppers in the NBA and a horrible defender. That's why 4 years in he still has star-level talent and replacement player-level impact.
On a team where Jokic is scoring like one of the most efficient superstars ever, Gordon is scoring efficiently as well, Murray can create his own shot, and KCP/Brown/Hyland/Cancar are hitting threes like crazy, the Nuggets don't need yet another scorer. They need DEFENSE and BALL MOVEMENT. Unfortunately, MPJ is a huge negative where both of those are concerned.

They told me Jokic is the best player in the NBA and on par with Hakeem and Kareem, so anything MPJ does is just extra icing on the cake.
Jokic is enough to win a title with this roster, MPJ’s supposed lack of defense be damned.
You sound like you are clueless when it come to basketball. Hakeem and Kareem both missed the playoffs in their prime when they didn't have the right teammates around them.
From 1988 (age 25) to 1992 (age 29), Hakeem went 3-12 in the playoffs over five seasons, never winning more than 1 game in a postseason and missing the playoffs completely in '92.
From 1975 (age 27) to 1979 (age 31), Kareem only won 2 playoff rounds in 5 years and missed the playoffs entirely in '75 and '76.
EVERYONE needs the right team to succeed. Right now MPJ isn't helping the Nuggets' title chances.
