I'd been meaning to ask
@mbewane and you how Fillion's responses have been playing with French voters? It's so painfully arrogant, stupid, and transparent. He's gone back on everything he's said and was supposed to represent.
Hopefully it leads to nepotism laws as well.
Fillon is doing what Trump, Berlusconi and Le Pen have been doing : playing the victim card. It's all a "leftist conspiracy", etc. Justice is "against him" and wants to "rob his voters of the election". The more affairs come up, the more "proof" it is that judges, etc are "against him" lol. So he shifts the focus from doing illegal stuff to "How come Justice is getting involved in these elections".
The problem is, like I've always said, a lot of Right voters are highly hypocritical and only talk about "values" "hard work" "justice" when it suits them. This we know. For a lot of them they follow whoever is the "leader" of the Right because following the "leader" is in their DNA (much more so than Left voters, who are usually the first to criticize their own "leaders"). So whatever Fillon does/says, they're gonna stick with him, regardless. They don't care about all the affairs, etc because that was hypocritical from the beginning.
It's telling that even as A LOT of other politicians from the Right are abandonning ship (Le Maire, Estrosi, Morano, the DIrector of his campaign and his Spokesperson), voters stick with him. It actually reinforces his new-found image of "Me against the world" and "victimhood".
