Well, last night was interesting.
I'll start by saying this: none of what I'll say is an indictment on Kris Dunn or a lack of endorsement of him or the pick. However I trust Thibs the executive a lot less after last night.
Thibs didn't have a good night, not because he took Dunn, but because he's willing to trade the most important player on the team and front like they're getting better when in reality he's throwing next season away. Never mind the faith he'd conceivably be putting in Dunn. Now he'd be willing to say "If Dunn gets hurt (and he gets hurt just as much as Rubio) then I'm trusting Tyus fukking Jones to lead this team to wins." Hard to do that when Jones is just a mascot.
Dunn as our backup PG is a good thing. If he PROVES he's better at helping this team win than Rubio, that's a great thing. It's a great problem to have. It improves our bench scoring AND defense. Why nobody notices that is crazy.
That said, this team continues to run away from good shooters and that they can't justifiably explain. They ran away from Hield /Murray only to do what? Attempt to pay someone $15 mil a year to do the same thing? That prevents the team from addressing their other big need: who's alongside Towns?
But even then, that wasn't the biggest issue, hell not even the Butler talks (though if LaVine's the reason why Butler's not here, Lord help us). If it's true that Philly offered Noel, Covington, Luwawu and Korkmaz and all they wanted was Dunn and Thibs /Layden said no, they're idiots. That fixes pretty much everything.
That's where I'm at on this
