Funny thing is before COVID I noticed the lack of restocking, and one of the workers said the company was changing suppliers for things. Then COVID hit months later and they just never bothered. I think the execs just milked whatever and used the pandemic as a reason to do nothing.

Yea Frys was not paying vendors. I always had to argue with the buyers why my stock in the store was not receiving shyt.

Gang violence...
the one in my hometown in arizona started out as an "incredible universe" which was pretty great and then became frys. several of the guys i knew in high school worked there. it was always weird having your bags checked as you leave but other than that, it was a cool place to go if you were a geek and had cash to spend. in later years the selection got terrible and the sales people knew less and less. the writing was on the wall.

add them to "just for feet" with stores that i grew up loving to spend time at that just cant make it anymore.

They always have great deals and have a decent online store.

Will also build PCs for you. I hope they don’t ever close.

And their Service Department shyts all over GeekSquad. We used to clown them when I was working in returns because most service issues were from Best Buy.

But yeah, they had the WOAT customer service. Got old constantly having customers :krs: at how I treated them cause they're used to being treated like shyt there

I hate that these big box stores are going out of business, because at the end of the day it's just more and more people losing their jobs. I also am not a huge fan of online shopping in general, and that's because I still like being able to go out and have the actual product in my hand without the worries of a broken/stolen/misplaced item. If half the country becomes unemployed we're going to end up becoming a 4hr/4 days a week working society.

Their golden era was the 2000s. Once the recession hit in late '08 , it was the beginning of the end.

Sales job was stressful as fukk but I ate real good off that commission:ahh:

The employee parking lot used to look like a car show back in the day. 3 of the top ten salespeople (including #1) was at our store . My coworkers were cool outside of work but it was dog eat dog on the sales floor. :birdman:

This is sad. Truly an end of an era. I used to go there all the time with my dad. Stole a couple videocards there as a teenager too. Memories...
