You nikkas feel threatened by the word "classic" your whole cynicism is showing. Just get over it, you couldn't touch Kendrick's lyricism even if you had a thesaurus. People who say the beats are wack just didn't get the album. A album like this doesn't need a bunch of trap beats that all pretty much resemble each other. The content of the songs don't warrant those type of beats. I listened to this album very throughly, it's a well balanced, thought provoking album, that's why it's a classic.

bytch Don't Kill My Vibe is one of those songs that will never get old. Kendrick's flow is weak? WTF, I bet you can't rap along with Sing About Me without losing your breath after 4 bars. Every time some rapper comes up in the scene with a fresh breath of rap, nikkas just get envious and shyt on it. They generalize the popular opinion, they can't accept it.

People think a concept album has to have a narrative story. No, there is more to it than a concept album. nikkas don't like the fact Kendrick started off his whole album with a nod to his Christianity and the entire album builds around that idea. Even got Maya Angelou on the album with some words of wisdom. But half the Coli ain't Christians so I wouldn't expect you to relate to it. Classic album? damn right

There's not one classic song on this album. No Juicy, dead presidents, world is yours, shook ones, Gin and Juice, mind is playing tricks on me etc.

This right here is the problem. You're inflating it's status because of everything else that's out. People are sitting here giving this album the same ratings as Illmatic and Reasonable Doubt, etc. I'll say this, I bumped this album heavy when it came out, it's literally the last hip hop album that I purchased, but there is no way I can call it a classic. There are too many skippable moments and times where he just loses my attention. Backyard Freestyle was just a bunch of aggressive yelling for no reason, I fall asleep every time Sherane comes on and the Art of Peer Pressure lost its effect after the first month, that is not a classic storytelling track. The original beat sounded better than the one he told the story over as well. "Real" has the most annoying hook since Reminder. Swimming Pools is carried more by the production as it overpowers his voice. HOWEVER, Sing About Me was the song of the year.

It was a very good album, that got partially overrated because no one in the mainstream was coming from that angle. Let K. Dot breathe, I like what he brings to the game.

I can't help but feel people needed a hero so they crowed this kid as what Lupe was supposed to be. Meanwhile, they forgot that Lupe was better than this guy at every single aspect of rapping.

Your logic don't make sense to me. Stop with everything else was garbage argument. nikkas get confused with the definition of Classic, you think Classic means GOAT, a classic is something that has huge impact to the viewers in it's time, based on the general public opinion. Yall sit here and generalize everybody who like the album, for some reason. Nobody leaving out Lupe, but lately been yall shytting on him too because he got more preachy with his raps. The Cool and Food and Liquor are great albums, both Classics. Bottomline, your bias overshadows your judgment. Your analysis of those songs you listed tells me you're one of those mofos that skip songs because the beat ain't got no 808s for your system. People who shyt on Real didn't appreciate the message behind. Well you're just one of those guys who give a damn about thought provoking messages, if it ain't banging with a Drake Hook, you don't like.
