You should have just kept quite, if you weren't going to explain it. What I got from it was that you think people who like this album are squares, and that it's basically this generations aquemini. Which would mean you're calling people who liked that album squares too. Excuse me be Aquemini was a classic album in many peoples eyes including some of the people who are agreeing with you. Since you dont want to explain nothing, that's me take. Like I said it takes away from your credibility, and the fact that you tried to duck the whole shyt instead of just coming out and saying what you truly meant.

As for he other 2 projects, you should know them if you knew when he started to gain a buzz. They'd be fairly easy to fine. Though I doubt you'd listen with an open mind, it's clear you don't like something about him.

It's pretty much the only album released in awhile that anyone's given a classic label to besides MBDTF and Take Care but those two artist are too polarizing to have a serious discussion about on this site atleast.

K Dot dropped some real shyt that's considered top of the artform in this present time. If that aint a classic contender I don't know what is.

The album is classic to me...if we want to nitpick not every track is 5/5 but to me Illmatic is the only album ever that I give ALL tracks a 5/5 to. So thats a dumb standard to use. Out of the last couple of years its by far the album Ive listened to the most. The lyrics and messages are miles above average in the new era of rap. Production is very good too. More than half the tracks are 5/5 and theres no 3/5 or weaker tracks. Thats enough for me to call it a classic

For the 18 years i've been listening to hip hop music I you would be a fool not to say this album is not a classic. It embodies everything of what the standard of hip hop should be about dope lyrics, dope beats and songs tha have meaning not the typical trap an club bullshyt that this generation hip hop fans are polluted with and the fact that it's going platinum is a deeming it classic in itself.

if you listen to those tapes it kinda gives you a feeling of how & why Kendrick was rapping the way he did on Backseat Freestyle. I agree that those weren't very good mixtapes, I just wanted that other dude to atleast attempt to state the obvious had he actually heard any of those tape. He was trying to be like Jay & Wayne too much on all of them. Where as on Kendrick Lamar EP is when he started to make the transition into his own artist.

Nothing but a pointless rant, start a blog or something. What's the point in all this, besides people going back and fourth in a endless cycle explaining why their personal opinions matters more than the other. Truth is, you ain't going to change our minds, we ain't going to change yours. While you sitting telling us why you think this album is this or that doesn't deserve this and that or Kendrick Lamar is this and that, his voice is this and that, etc... We'll still be listening to it.
