McGregor's run was fun but T'Challa was getting the beats put onto him by old ladies lol

Priest actually made him a legit force to be reckoned with and I'm glad he decided to lace his suit with vibranium because it never made sense for a highly intelligent King of an advanced nation with access to the most indestructable metal to go into battle with regular spandex lol.
Though I don't remember that but T'Challa took some licks early on but it was character growth which was the focus on Don's early run with TChalla gaining back his throne and respect. Also back then it wasn't uncommon to see the hero lose a fight here and there.

They really made a biracial man with blonde golden hair :mjlol:

Joe Quesada was also the reason Priest had to force in Everett Ross and Kasper Cole bytch ass into comics...said it was too black and needed whites. This was when he was chief editor at Marvel.

And the results were damning.

T'Challa doesn't need to be ours but the way he is depicted will make little black boys not see themselves as something positive if this trend continues.
Then we need to give them strong representation. Milestone could've been it

Yes, that is exactly the point you're missing.

- if you don't own it, it isn't yours
- if your self perception, self esteem, sense of self worth is dependent on something that isn't yours...you will forever be a victim to those that own it
- you may be inspired by it, even to the point of making your own...but to be this invested is to be tinged with the infection that you are dependent on someone else's creation for your worldview
- and you will go through the motions of telling yourself you can go work for these comic companies to change things from within...and you won't
- you will hear these warnings from those that did the same before you...and you will not heed wisdom, because the nature of unfocused youthful energy is to think you are unique and your outcome will surely be different simply because you want it enough
- this is what comes of letting enemies raise your children
- this is the fruit of assimilationist thinking
- this is mental slavery no matter how you twist your brain playing 5th dimensional Jenga trying to rationalize it
- and.they.know.it.all.

That might have been the longest fight in comics. Didn't Moon Knight show up for no reason?

We don't know what shackles Disney/MCU/Feige put on Coogler and his writer (whom I met while he was writing the first Black Panther).
There was already significant pushback within Disney against making a Black Panther film, so I'm sure he had to navigate through some politics.

Its crazy that they felt asgard was an easier thing to adapt that a futuristic African city
