Last season on NXT, the wrestlers were accumulating points for awhile but the point totals ended up not mattering. WTF?

After Bret left for WCW, Owen disappeared for awhile and then came back with what looked like was going to be a huge babyface push and a main-event feud with HBK. Then nothing really came of it.

In the many versions of the Four Horsemen over the years, various women accompanied them as valets. Some of the time it appeared the women were in relationships with certain Horsemen, but other times they just seemed to randomly accompany any Horseman to the ring for singles matches. Sometimes, a Horseman would go to the ring with two women on his arms, implying three-way relationships. Is it fair to assume the Horsemen shared their women and enjoyed open relationships and perhaps even group sex?

Yeah... he was supposed to get a match w/ HBK at the 98 Rumble. HBK got out of it because when he came back and attacked HBK at the December PPV, Owen fukked his nose up... and HBK was worried that Owen was legit mad at him and might start shootin' during a match in revenge for what happened to Bret. So they transitioned it into an Owen/HHH feud instead.

...which came back to bite HBK in the ass. Cause Owen got replaced w/ Taker and the casket match, and then Michaels got backdropped onto the casket and fukked his back up. :damn:

^ It's a shame Owen never got that proper main event feud against HBK, the crowds were red hot for him when he came back.

Wasn't Bret a free agent in the middle of 1996 and could have signed, but that was when Vince signed that 10 year deal though IIRC?

Bret was offered more money from wcw but stayed loyal to Vince... Later on Vince told him to go and try to get the same deal from wcw but didn't think the deal woul still be on the table.... But it was and Bret took it.

Basically Bret was trying to stay loyal to Vince... Smh

A world title run might have worked out.

The belt was definitely going to Austin, so I'm sure HBK was gonna go over either way... but I always thought that they coulda kept Owen hot through '98, and eventually turned him heel to unite with McMahon as a shocker and go at Austin for the title. That mighta worked.

Instead they had him help put over HHH and DX, lumped him into the Nation, and then just had him wandering from there. Dropped the ball with him for sure.

Did they ever explain that Kane vs Kane stuff from a few years back

There was an end to it, but that's about it... there was never much explanation.

Last segment was Kane beatin' the throwback Kane's ass all through the arena, getting to the exit and taking the mask from him, said somethin' like "I believe this belongs to me" and then threw him out the door. That was it. :leostare:

With all of the star power that would developing around the time, it isn't hard to understand how he got overlooked.

I understand it... I just don't see how he ended up doing next to nothing for months at a time, and eventually ended up portraying a glorified jobber character he did 10 years prior. He deserved better than that, and especially coming off of a hot feud with DX. shyt, even Marc Mero had an ongoing storyline for most of '98, and he was straight garbage by then.

- What were the stories like of Stone Cold being over protective of his spot during his heyday?
- How come Scott Steiner wasn't apart of WM 19?
- How come Undertaker/Warrior never happened?

The stories I've seen of Austin was just natural top-star shyt... he wanted to keep his spot and even worked through injuries because he didn't wanna take the time away, and only took it once he absolutley had to. The overprotectiveness came along later, when his (and WWF's) popularity started to cool down and things seemed to be moving along. This was when Angle and Jericho were being given runs, Hogan had come back, the WCW and ECW guys came over, Rock and HHH were still at the top, Brock was getting the push. And at the same time Austin's injuries were kickin' his ass. That's when it's been said he became paranoid and overprotective of his spot, because things were changing and he knew he was being moved down the card.

As for Steiner not being on WM19- I'm just guessing honestly, but I think what happened is those matches with HHH had flopped so badly, they lost all faith in Scotty. They had him feuding with Test around Mania time, and they were off the card. But then again, a lotta people didn't make the show that year- RVD, Kane, Dudleys, Cena, Jeff Hardy... most of them got to be on Sunday Night Heat before the show, but...:scusthov:

The Taker/Warrior thing is weird... I don't get it either. Actually Warrior's booking after Mania VII is strange. They kick off a feud with him and Taker, they have matches on house shows. I'm not sure if it didn't draw or what, but next thing you know they're using Warrior/Taker to transition into Warrior/Jake. Then at the SAME TIME, SummerSlam is arriving and Warrior's in a tag match with Hogan that has nothing to do with either Taker or Jake. Strange. Only thing I can guess is that Warrior/Taker didn't draw houses so it didn't make PPV... cause that's the same reason Vince changed his mind about running Hogan/Flair for WrestleMania.

^ Yeah I always wondered why they didn't do a Taker/Warrior match at Summerslam '91 and just have Hogan face Slaughter in a cage match for the title or something. I guess it didn't matter anyway since Warrior was fired after the show but it just seemed like that's what they going for in the weeks leading up. That and no Hogan/Flair at WM8 were real headscratchers for me.

I believe Taker and Warrior had a bodybag match. Not sure if it was an MSG show or on Primetime Wrestling but they def did because I remember seeing it. With how Takers powers wound up being with lightning and shyt that feud could have been GOAT one way or another if special effects had been used. It would have been amazing or just top notch fukkery.
