Rocko believed in him. Invested his own money into Future's career (resources Future never had). If he never did this, there would probably be no Future.

Future tried to escape his current contract with Rocko by just not acknowledging it and signing elsewhere. It doesn't work like that. You are his investment and he wants his returns the both of you agreed to. Business is business.

Bow Wow & Busta Rhymes were also signed to Cash Money and didn't have any problems getting paid so it's seems like Birdman takes advantage of mostly the artists who don't have their paperwork straight (outside of the artists that Birdman came up with, signed & then ganked later) or don't have any real muscle behind them.
