I remember at the end of high school/when he started college he was plugging his spling website heavy, even though no one knew what it actually did. Then I followed the magnises stuff when it was happening because I thought it was hilarious.
I wrestled in high school and I remember he would come to the wrestling room after we practiced so he could practice jujitsu on his own. He was two years older than me and sister was my year, she's really sweet and very smart (and doing well for herself I heard, nothing sketchy about her).
There were a ton of douchebag lacrosse wasps at my school, and he was friends with all of them, but he was never a dikk to me.
I do remember a FB event for a hockey game with a rival school that had tons of people from each school beefing in the comments and he was talking wild cash shyt, telling folks to pull up and fight him in front of his dojo in West Orange
As I understand it, the MacFarlands are a fairly affluent real estate development family, so it isn't some rags to riches story. Billy just decided to scam and hustle, probably believing about 70% of his nonsense himself, rather than go the established route, of school and a finance job or whatever.
