Off topic but kind of on topic with the bizarre gay shyt. I’m watching this doc called “Abducted in plain sight”

This creep had a obsession with his neighbors daughter. So he pretended to be gay and suduced the girls married father into a handjob lol. This story is wild. Homeboy even had a “therapist” say he needed to spend time with the family’s daughter to get better for some BS. He asked the family for permission and these dumb ass parents said sure. He would come over lay in her bed and molest her in the parents home. Eventually he kidnaps her and go on the run.

This story is nuts. I ain’t even say the craziest shyt that happens later

Billy was the GOAT finneser. FRYE fest could’ve worked but He just thought a little too big. I can understand him going for it. He just thought he was invincible cause all the money that was in play

Just shows how money is Power in USA

That oral sex scene was just bizarre....The guy was an established promo/pr/marketing guy, who had contacts, and assumedly a thriving career, opportunities. Why would he perform oral sex on some Bahamanian official, for some frat boy goofball?

I thought the documentary was fine, quick and easy watch, nothing really insightful, I much prefer reading to watching documentaries, the live coverage, plus court docs provide a much more in depth look, without having to watch some hedge fund kids interview about his bad night in the Bahamas.

Am I correct that the place was Norman's Cay, or has that been conflated? Normans Cay was where Carlos Lehder operated from in the 80's, and it was a hedonistic crazed place.

Apparently, the Hulu one was slightly better, that was Wesley Morris take from NY Times:

‘Fyre’ and ‘Fyre Fraud’ Reviews: Behind the Scenes of a Music Festival Fiasco

The Hulu one focuses more on the influencers and on the actual fraud part of Billy lying to investors. The Netflix one is more about the behind the scenes work from the people doing it.

Funny enough...Billy does an interview in the Hulu one and the fukkJerry media company is who produced the Netflix one...so in the Hulu doc Billy tries to make it seem like it wasn't that bad...it was...and in the netflix doc all the fukkJerry media people try to make it seem like they really believed everything Billy said up until the end...which they really didn't.

Funny that in the Hulu doc they pretty much paint Billy as a lifetime scammer but in the netflix doc Andy King says he always knew Billy to be a great entrepreneur and person.

Netflix also shows a bit about how Ja teamed up with some other guy and took the app, which is what really started this whole thing in the first place...

Cacs have a 600 year history of going where nonwhite people are and fuccing everything up for the locals

and this is exactly why I think non of this shyt is funny (besides rich crying cac kids ofc)

they almost fukked up an island they had no business doing anything
they put a kind hearted black lady in debt
they exploited the black workers

fukk that fat cac and fukk ja rule :pacspit:

So after watching both docs, one thing I’m still wondering. Was Billy scamming the ENTIRE time or was there a point where he legitimately thought the festival was gonna work? Like the part where he’s crying and having a breakdown made me think that a part of him thought they could pull the festival off but at the same time he could be that much of a sociopath where even those tears were part of the con

As I understand it, the MacFarlands are a fairly affluent real estate development family, so it isn't some rags to riches story. Billy just decided to scam and hustle, probably believing about 70% of his nonsense himself, rather than go the established route, of school and a finance job or whatever.

Its also easier to take risks scamming like that when you can fall back on living with ur parents...its not like he lost everything and lived on the streets.
He got to go home and live at his parents mansion until he figured out how to get more money...

I think the breakdown was more of a "damn, if this fails I won't be able to rip off these stupid fukks a 2nd, 3rd, 4th time" :laff: - and of course the hit to the pride and ego.

Honestly if he pulled this shyt off and everything went to plan he would have had this yearly, with prices getting even wilder! The money would have been :ohlawd:

Did you watch the shyt ? Theres no way he thought for a minute he was gonna pull this off,it was a scam from the beginning, did you not see him scamming nikkas with those cards and out on bail right back to sending out emails ???

He aint no dummy he knew he couldnt pull that off in 2 months with, there was no planning until the end lol....he wasnt even trying to pull it off.
