This is like saying the movie industry is dying because Marvel movies ain't popping anymore.

Big budget AAA gaming needs a course correction. But gaming is as big as ever
I mean technically it is currently from a theater perspective considering it helped prop up the movie industry for years because every one of those films was a near guarantee to drive revenue and people to the movie theaters.

Nintendo gone have to make their system with 3rd party support in mind.

Playstation and xbox, gone have to stop the arms race and lower costs.

Xbox gone have to do a better job with content, to keep people subscribed or buying hardware.

Sony gone have to take down some of their walls and invite revenue from outside their own hardware.

Console war is over, if the big 3 wants to thrive going forward.

Or maybe they need to start pricing these games at $60 again how you spending millions and your game is trash and the digital copy $70 too then people stuck with trash...:mjlol: no wonder gamers not buying these games at that price point they have to weigh their options :dead:

They're just going to launch them on PC earlier (likely day 1).

yep, and with rentals dying, and physical sales declining, those blockbusters were keeping the industry going

Gaming is. Console gaming really isn't. These companies are all hemorrhaging customers. Remember the Wii and DS were like 240 or so million combined now the Switch is all alone and is 100 million less. The PS5 isn't meeting Sony's sales expectations and they're reducing them and talking down sales while talking up an aggressive multiplatform approach. Xbox is collapsing when it comes to hardware sales to the point they're putting games on PS5 and Switch.

2021 during COVID was basically confirmation of "blow off top" for now when it comes to gaming.

When I said people was out buying PlayStation 5's off hype alone with little to no desire to really play on it that wasn't me hating.

People wanted systems to play on while they were either still living of COVID stims or working remotely at home. Volume for consoles was dumb high, but mostly because the supply was so low and PlayStation was the cool console with multiple trendy memes during all of COVID

We are in the bear market of the gaming industry, and it's probably going to get worse if Nintendo doesn't drop hardware until next year, Sony doesn't have any major tent pole games to move hardware until next year and Xbox newest hardware isn't until 2025/26

There are gonna be more lay offs, consolidations, mergers and price increases in the meantime.
