that's why venturing to block buster was GOAT status
Yeah but back then, you got the entire game. Not part of it and the rest you have to get a season pass or DLC for.
Friday's were GOAT, moms tired from the week not feeling like driving your lil stank ass to blockbuster and paying the inevitable late fees when you forget to take it back on timeI lived in Blockbuster. Friday night, rent a game, rent a movie, get a pizza hut pie from across the street and all my brehs would come over to eat.didnt sleep to like 3:00am. i swear i was only friends with some fukk boys cuz they had the console i didnt have and vice versa
Funny thing is even with them being pretty expensive I had a huge library. I used to cop used anytime I can tho. Except for the really hyped titles like Street Fighter 2. Mortal Kombat 1 and 2. Donkey Kong Country. Link To The Past. etc etc. And yea. Blockbuster was a nikka's best friend. LolCartridges were expensive as hell
I rented damn near everything I wanted to play
Yeah I know, I meant the average was 50..some was 80, 70, 60, 55 but most was 49.99Nah. There was games for $69.99 n shyt back then. Some even 89.99. I remember clearly. Street Fighter Special Champions Edition came out to around over 80 bucks after taxes. When PS1 came out it changed the game. Games were WAY cheaper. Now they back priced similar to back in the day.
makes me wonder how my homey had every god damn game for genesis, we were lower-middle class at that point and dude had every fukking game. I think his older brother was selling drugs or something to afford them shytsI remember wanting to buy mortal kombat 2 for genesis $80.my mom damn near died when she saw the price tag.
it's interesting because it's something they kind of lost when they moved to disc based games. with carts they could include specialized hardware to enhance the graphics, sound, AI, etc. with disc based games they had to make do with the hardware in the consoleWas just about to mention this...most of the AAA titles or games with chips to help boost performance were in the higher price range.
