Persona 4 was fun, FFXIII wasn't.

They're both JRPGS. One was a let down and a backwards step from it's original outings, the other was a slept on classic.

You can complicate things and go the whole "Persona 4 is this while FF is that" but it doesn't matter. At the end of the game, I had a much better time and memory with Persona 4 Golden then I did with FFXIII. The overall experience was rich in Persona 4 Golden. I don't care about the convoluted battle system, it requiring "tactics to approach bosses" doesn't mean much when the majority of the game you're not fighting bosses and the game around it is bland (story, characters, world etc.)

Sorry, FFXIII literally ruined FFXV for me. I have practically no hype for it while Persona 4 has me on the edge of my seat in anticipation for 5.
This is like saying Mario Kart and Gran Turismo are both racing games. They may be but style of them are completely different. I'm not making the argument that XIII is better than Persona 4 because it isn't but the battle system of XIII was fun and way better than the battle system of Persona 4.

XV has nothing to do with XIII. Different teams made the different games. In fact this is a series of games that while they share a title most of the games are completely unrelated to one another.

Persona 4 isn't slept on either. Persona 1 and 2 maybe but 3 and 4 are very mainstream games. They're about as mainstream as JRPGs get outside of Final Fantasy and maybe the Tales of series. Even when Persona 4 originally came out it wasn't slept on. People into JRPGs knew about that game and it was getting heavy praise back then. This wasn't some hidden gem people discovered years later.

The art style and battle system of those games is by far my favorite.

The characters can be tropey but its more endearing than annoying for me.
Fair enough.

I was expecting you to say they ruined JRPGs by being bad or something.

I actually just started getting into the series and I really enjoy them. They have this effect on me that takes me back to snes JRPGs.

Can't wait for berseria. Did you like zestiria?

I've looked at the Tales of series like the McDonald's of JRPGs. Easily the best aspect of the series to me is the humor and skits. The battle systems are also usually good. Everything else however is typically mediocre or borderline acceptable.

That's not a good analogy. Mario Kart is like it's own sub genre(kart racer) while GT is a tried and true racing sim.
Persona and FF may have different styles but they have very common attributes(main characters, party members, turn based combat, side quests, boss battles, equipment systems etc.) They're not that different. Comparing something like FF and Valkyria Chronicles would be dumb but FF and Persona aren't that different.

XV has nothing to do with XIII, true but from what I've seen, it just looks clinical and bleh. Idk, :yeshrug: Just doesn't scream "fun" to me.

Persona 4 seemed like a game that wasn't as mainstream as say Tales or even FF. I never heard of it until like 2012.

Bloodborne for me. I still like the other souls games but BB made DS3 pretty boring after the first playthrough. It may have less weapons but they are far more interesting. Everything from the environments to bosses are just so fire imo in BB

Most recently I think overwatch has killed my excitement for any fps right now except for bioshock or borderlands.

Bioshock set the bar really high for me when it comes to fps action adventure games. The only other game I can think of that I've played and enjoyed was borderlands. Every other game gets dropped a few hours into it or I don't even bother if I think the trailer is lackluster.

Diablo 2 for loot grinding games as well. I was looking forward to destiny and tried to force myself to like it but Blizzard spoiled me. Maybe I'll pick up destiny 2 since Bungie corrected a lot of stuff.

Oddly enough but Uncharted 4, specifically the multiplayer has sort of ruined other games for me. Like I haven't touched ANYTHING else on PS4 since it came out and I got a gang of games in my house for PS4. Idk if it's just me being burned out on some games but whenever I decide to turn on the game it's either UC4 MP or I'll try and finish Zero Escape 3 on the PC. I haven't touched Overwatch in like a month now and It's a game that I enjoyed when I first started playing it.

I just don't be feeling like playing anything else and I wasn't expecting that seeing as how I'm always going on about things I don't like in the MP. :manny:

I'm gonna try playing Might No 9 :yeshrug:

NBA Live, NCAA March Madness and NCAA college football. EA can never get it right. It's ether the graphic or the game play I just stopped playing.
