Got the platinum for timesplitters 1 on PS4 and played the main game of the fractured but whole after 7 years of procrastinating. I think starting doom 2016, the resident evil series, spec ops the line, or Callisto protocol will be next if I stay bored with AC: Valhalla for another night or two.

1. Onimusha Warlords (Playstation Portal) (7.5/10)
2. Crypt Custodian (Playstation Portal) (8/10)
3. Steamworld Heist 2 (Playstation Portal) (8/10)
4. Tails of Iron 2 (Playstation Portal) (7/10)
5. Momodora: Moonlit Farewell (Playstation Portal) (8/10)
6. Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza (Playstation Portal) (7/10)
7. Dynasty Warriors Origins (Playstation Portal) (8.5/10)
8. Suikoden 1: HD Remaster (Playstation Portal) (8.5/10)
9. Blue Prince (Playstation Portal) (8/10)

Rolled credits on this after getting to Room 46; extremely unique mix of old-school exploration/esoteric puzzles, rouge-like features and "card" drafting in the form of drafting rooms to get you to the top of the map. Never played anything like it and the game's presentation is incredible but the meta-puzzles, slow progression, frustrating rng and miserly in-game economy are likely to put a lot of gamers off pretty quickly. Also, 100% a game in which you need to journal everything as you go.

KCD1, Metal Gear Rising, and Metaphor. Been playing lots of games that don't end like Kenshi and Street Fighter 6, with a touch of Marvel Rivals every now and then.

A forum favourite, and I enjoyed my time with this a lot - great presentation, a story with a great concept and a really excellent combat system. The mixture of turn-based combat with parries/dodges etc is clever, but the system really excels in terms of the diversity of builds and team strategies you can utilise through the pictos system. I particularly like the risk/reward pictos with stuff like roulette etc. I also enjoyed the uniqueness and set up of the story, and personally enjoyed the ambivalent endings.

Only issues I have with it are the design of the "dungeons" leading to traversal of them being a bit boring. Also engaging with any of the end-game stuff leads you to be completely over-powered for the final battle.

All in all though, great game.

Next, on to Onimusha 2.

OG Metroid on my NES mini…

The worst thing you can do is get that bullshyt ass wave beam when you already have the Ice beam… luckily it’s two locations to get it again…. You CANNOT get past them metroids in the final stage without it..

I literally had a panic attack jumping to the escape when that timer started counting down

Im about to wrap up avowed. I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t particularly a slow start, but the simple story really gained depth through the companion stories.

Well executed and I look forward to a DLC.
