Yeah, for the companies that spend nearly a decade making a game, only for it to sell below expectations.

That's 5-10 years wasted.

For comparison, back in the late 90s, early 00s, it took 2 years to make FFX, and you could say this was the norm for many games back then.

Yeah, I realize there are many factors that cause development times to be much longer now, but regardless of the reason, it's not good for companies.

I just copped another 4 games during this PSN sale. I'm playing my part. But I don't think the industry is in trouble at all. The only issue is that they're too many games to play all competing for that small sliver of time. My backlog was ridiculous before I even purchased these games and I don't know when I'm going to get to them with RE 8 and Soros around the corner....smh
