Gaming is losing its appeal

as Ive gotten older I don't game as much and I realize that at this point in life I only play a 5 game rotation....So I can't say I'm loosing interest as I will always buy and play these games when they come out but I don't care about the random games as much.
1.NBA 2K
2.Madden
3.RPG (Final Fantasy, Witcher, Fallout, Dragon Age)
4.Battle Field
5.God of War type action game

The fukking PS4 is boring as shyt and is the reason why no one gives a fukk about gaming anymore. When X360 was on top, gaming was the center of the entertainment world. Now gaming headed out the door, like atari, thanks to Sony's poor leadership.

As the poster above said be selective in the games you invest in, quality over quantity the only game this gen that I felt invested in is Uncharted 4.

OP is right, it's rare I get excited about games these days. Everything that gets released these days just seems to be geared towards the online/generic sci-fi/zombie fanatic/FPS crowd

More choices is not a problem so I don't agree with that part of the OP.
Media and the way we consume it overall has certainly changed though.
I don't know that gaming has lost its appeal. I've thought about it before, but have entirely too much going on at once to be able to objectively say that with certainty.
I think gaming in general has been on a plateau for a while now though. Sometimes it feels like every possible type of game has been made and we're just remixing character models.
I'm still enjoying it for the most part though.
