SINY!!
If there is no album, than its a wasted "last guest appearance" from J. Cole. Its been years since Ownerz. Primo should put something together and put it out there, get some high level talented to fill the gaps on the tracks.

It would be a great way to "introduce" Gang Starr to these newer generation kids.

did you even buy the song?

Primo doesn't have to do anything. He literally said he constructed this with tears in his eyes. If he has an album then great if he doesn't then its ok as well.

HOW MANY PEOPLE IN HERE HAVE PAID FOR THIS OR ARE STREAMING IT ON PLATFORMS WHERE IT COUNTS?

Real rap fans always come out in numbers to critique and discuss music but they don't buy it.

Primo used Cole to make sure his song was heard by people today it's that simple. "Real Hip Hop fans" are simply not that supportive when it comes to making money off art.

I like how Cole's double time flow contrasted with Guru's signature slow flow. Wonder if he did that on purpose?

Anyway, fukkin amazing song. I would go as far as saying its the best song I've heard all year. Reminds me of why I love this hip-hop shyt right here mayne :mjcry:

Hopefully this song makes the younger generation want to check out Gangstarr's music and dig into their discography abit

I did buy the track.....actually purchased hard copies of Moment of Truth & The Ownerz.

I say it should have been a song leading up to an album....because unless songs are associated with “events/releases/etc” they come and go by the wayside. Its easy for something as good as this track to get lost in the sea of “songs” that are dropped frequently.

Id also love to hear any unreleased Guru verses (I’m sure others would too hear that as well, even if there are only a handful remaining).....

R.I.P. Mr. Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal

Seeing a young unflabby DJ premier has just blown my mind. I don't think I've ever seen a photo of him not looking like a potato.

What about this article by Josiah Hughes, Published Dec 10, 2010

"Earlier this year, rapper Guru (née Keith Edward Elam) passed away after a year-long battle with cancer. Best known as the rapper for Gang Starr, his other half DJ Premier has revealed that a posthumous Gang Starr album could be on the way.

Speaking with XXL [via 2DopeBoyz], Premier revealed that he already has at least five unreleased Gang Starr tracks in his possession, while there are other artists in Europe who have seven or eight songs with Guru rapping on them. They've given Premier the vocal tracks, and he plans to spin them into Gang Starr gold.

"It's songs he did with [the European artists] and they never finished it and they said I can have them," Premier said. "They reached out and were like, As long as you're doing it. You can have the vocals. They are all brand new, from like a year and a half ago. I listened to them and I'll make them shyts sound like we were together. Well, we will be together because spiritually, he's with me for the rest of my life."

Premier also revealed plans for a behind-the-scenes film documenting the iconic duo. "I'm putting together a Gang Starr DVD because I've been filming since 1989," he said. "I did all the filming until 1993. Then I started bringing guys with me. I have hundreds and hundreds of tapes of me and Guru arguing in the airport. Him and Shug fighting. Guru tried fighting everyone. Now, you look at it and it's like, Damn, I miss that."

As previously reported, Premier has also teamed up with Pete Rock for an upcoming collaborative album."

There should be more than the single on the way but seeing that we had to wait almost 10 years for the single, I'm concerned. I'm ready for the album!! According to the article, he had 5 unreleased tracks and we assume that Family and Loyalty was a new track using the vocals from the European artist. There should much more to come.
Not one of these projects has seen tze light of day. It's like the Primo and Nas album that never happened :yeshrug:

Preem does lead the league in stalled projects, but i think the GS is for real. the single is getting played heavy on Shade, and pretty much any underground station across the world
