Albums Gang Starr - One of the Best Yet (Discussion Thread)

I like the album, but with most posthumous albums it feels kinda...off. This, along with the The Big Picture(Big L), are the best ones I’ve heard, tho.

Three things:
-Royce is the greatest MC from my city, hands down, IDGAF about “sales”

-Q-Tip talking that gangsta shyt got me dying!

-Welcome back, Jeru! Gonna need ‘Wrath’ or ‘Sun Rises’ 2, or somn

I am more than happy with it. To me, it fits right with all the other gang starr albums. There are a couple of stand outs but I'm much rather listen to anything from gang starr than today's rap. Props to Preme and RIP to Guru!

This album is dope. Primo laced the fukk outta this. He's still got it, these beats are beautiful. Some songs sound like ownerz left overs. Hit Man is fukking insane. Q Tip killed it. Few weaker songs but whatever it's classic gang starr overall. 4/5

Haven't had a chance to digest this album properly as I've had the kids all day but what I've heard has been dope. The opener with M.O.P. was a great way to kick off the album.

Preme did his thing here, it doesn't sound cut and paste and just feels like another chapter in the Gang Starr story.

I already copped the CD and I'm gonna stream the shyt out of this. This has me really anticipating that De La Soul / Premier album.

Dope album. Glad Preme pursued the project so heavily. Heard some of the Solaar versions of those same songs and they were wack. Much rather have Preme in the best. Looks like all the verses for this project were from the stash he obtained from Solaar. Hope there is enough left for another project. Preme once said he had about 6-10 sets of vocals (from their unreleased music to other unreleased work that Guru did) in an article, way back like 2010 before he got anything from Solaar. I want that too. Nice album. I’m copping me a shirt from the site to represent.
